I mean it’s a very hard job mainly in housekeeping and food and beverage,Not great pay for what you do but you do get good benefits, and a lot of sick pay, it’s a very good job for security, it’s just very hard when you get bigger up and takes over your life

Pros

Great sick pay, some good benefits they used to be free now you have to pay

Cons

Hard work Long hours Benefits used to be free now only the pool is

Great place to work

I love working as a housekeeper at Center parcs. It’s a great little job and is really enjoyable but it is very hard work and basically non stop (but not in a bad way) which makes your shifts fly in. Fits around my lifestyle, great benefits and pay and work with a great team and even free company transport to and from work

Pros

Day passes, great team

Cons

Nothing

no progression

fine if you need to pay the bills but dont expect progression. always short staffed so will employ anyone. free hot drinks, uniform included. that's about it

Fun and different everyday

Job was fun and everyday was different, there was a lot of different activies to work on which made each day feel different. But it is seasonal work and you only get Monday and Friday off and are expected to work weekends.

Pros

Fun

Cons

Only Monday and Friday off

Great workmates boring work

Don't mistake this for a forestry job. It's outside housekeeping and very slow. If you want action and job satisfaction this is not it. Everyone, no matter experience or qualifications, gets the same hourly rate. No pay bands on grounds

Pros

Great colleagues in grounds at Whinfell

Cons

Boring work

Great job poor management

It’s a company that will use and abuse you to get what they want. If they can step over the line and get away with it then they will. The work environment is wonderful and a lot of the staff are nice but you have a be a yes person to work there

Pros

Nice environment

Cons

Lousy management

Amazing place to work

I worked in the Parc Market and it was probably the best job I even had. I left to follow a career path but I was so so happy at Whinfell Forret. The managers there and unbelievably kind and nice and the whole team is welcoming and very easy to get on with. The benefits are top notch, pay isn't the absolute best but if you get the chance to experience this working environment then do it because these guys do things absolutely right. I will forever recommend people to work here.

Pros

Benefits, friendships, development, low stress, everything

Cons

The odd guest with a bad attitude

Nice environment to work in

Managers have no idea what they are doing. Everything they do is for show and not for the guest . They don’t really care about guests they just repair as cheap as they can hoping the next guest doesn’t pick up on it and if they do they just lie and say it just happened.

Pros

Free passes to park for family

Cons

No support from management

Absolutely fantastic

I worked as a lifeguard for two years at Center Parcs and everything about it was just great! The management were extremely fair and all staff were kind and welcoming. Such a friendly environment!100% would recommend working for this department!

Pros

Friendly staff, great management

Cons

10 week rota makes it slightly difficult to book holidays off

Great benefits but environment can be hard

The best thing is benefits, other than that your work/life balance isn’t great. Guest always complain and high targets for bonuses set makes it hard to achieve at times. Plus temporary contract means they can fire you when they want

Pros

Holiday benefits

Cons

Targets

Pros

Cons

Hard working and dedicated staff arent appreciated

I remember being told by a very senior manager that CP is like a big machine rolling relentlessly forward. It sucks people in and then spits them out. I thought this was a strange analogy. However, it is exactly right. The focus is heavily on how much money they can squeeze out of each guest. There are truly some top people there, however, the culture is not around wellbeing of staff. Everyone is dispensable.

Pros

None really

Cons

Long hours Low salaries The discounts are poor and the prices of good and activities are very high.

After the pandemic

I never really felt appreciated at Center Parcs (Woburn Forest). I always gave 100%. But that's never enough for Center Parcs. New Supervisors and Managers don't really have the required people skills or man management training. They tended to all have their own objectives and never knew what each other was doing so communication was horrendous and often non existant. (one day I had 4 supervisor give me orders as to what they wanted, forgetting I reported to 1 supervisor who gave instruction at start of shift. This is because of a critical staff shortage. This panic mode situation is causing more and more people to leave CP (many good people have left) as they try to impose more onto the people that are left to do more than is possible in a shift. You know the saying, don't kill the goose that lays the golden egg!No point in moaning at CP. They really do not care about you. Ultimately the end guest customer suffers and doesn't get the cp experience they should be ££££ getting.

Pros

Lovely Enviroment

Cons

Poor money hard work.

Pros

Cons

Toxic environment

Working as a beauty therapist at Center Parcs was the worse decision I have ever made. Assistant manager and HOD very unprofessional and extremely rude and don’t know how to do their jobs. They do not care about who you are as a person and if they don’t like you then you will never get a promotion and make your working life unbearable. The management team need to all be replaced in order to make the place bearable to work. You don’t get 30 minute lunch break due to having treatments before and straight after so your lucky to have 20minutes. For the pay I would recommend you look somewhere else for a decent job from a company that may actually appreciate you. Assistant manager is the most toxic and awful manager I have ever worked for and lies to your face.

Pros

None

Cons

Everything

Good place to stay

The only problem is the swapping supervisors between night and morning as well the pay rate on night starting only midnight not the time you started, the time you start 9:30pm to midnight is paid on minimum wage.

Pros

Free tea or coffee

Cons

Long hours

Should never have left

You always think the grass is greener on the other side but not this time! Had a great experience working here, loved my team and the managers were always helpful and understanding of my needs and personal life. Never any issues with rotas or schedules and was always treated with respect. The company is good all round for pay, benefits and for making you feel included

Pros

Staff benefits, sick pay, family leave, holiday entitlement

Cons

Paid every 4 weeks instead of monthly

Horrible management

The management treat you like skivvies. They talk like you like your beneath them in more ways that just their role. Twice I complained and each time the higher management talked me out of taking it further to HR, very mad that I didn’t now. I worked in guest services and is definitely not what you imagine it to be, in fact if you’re working on arrivals it’s actually like factory work, even nipping to the loo is frowned upon. Yes the perks were good and what kept me their for 3.5 years, however, I’ve heard the perks have been dropped because of Covid. I’ve heard horror stories regards the house keeping staff being treated badly too. It’s why their is always a high turnover. I’m surprised management at this place have managed to get away with how they treat staff. Would not recommend. X

Pros

Guest passes, but no longer given because of Covid.

Cons

Management

So fun!

Everyone was so friendly, and I was really well looked after. I was welcomed into a family like team, and I loved every minute of it.Hours were long, but they were flexible around me and other commitments - and the job didn't feel like a job.

Pros

Rewarding job, fun, flexibility

Cons

Long hours - but didn't even feel like a job
