Business Analysis at British Gas
Business Analyst (Former Employee) - Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey - 16 December 2019
Featured review
Centrica selected this as a representative reviewIt is a great organisation to work, I was part of one of the major transformation project over 400 million, SAP CRM, and this was implemented in Agile approach with blue sky approach. There were 40 Scrums and I was supporting 3 scrums. Sales process, Services, backend processes.
Typical Agile delivery process, I was also trained to be Agile BA, and Product Owner roles. User story requirements backlog was created, and ok with Scrum teams, dev, test, and UX. Daily stand ups, resolve impediments, prepare backlog for future sprints, and attend dependency forum to plan dependency requirements between other delivery teams in other scrums.
Fast phased approach in agile and dynamic delivery environment.

Pay Is Less Than National Minimum Wage
Electrician (Former Employee) - United Kingdom - 9 November 2023
1. Expect to spend about a minimum of £2,000 in the first month for travel expenses, hotel rooms and food as you will be at the training facility. You will be fed lies that the expencess will be refunded on first pay but 6 months later and 100s of calls and emails none of us have received and expenses back. 2. You will be provided with an electric van that you will need to charge at least twice per day, what they don't tell you is that electric vehicle charging time and all travel time is not paid for so expect to work a minimum of 5 hours for free every day. 3. You are required to complete 8 hours per day / 40 hours per week on site at clients properties otherwise you will receive deductions in your pay. The least amount of hours you will work is 65 hours even if you don't sign out of the working time directive as travel time and electric van charging time is not classed as working hours. 4. Overtime has never been paid, every week I have completed more than 48 hours on site at clients houses plus the 25 hours working for free traveling and charging electric van, when contacting HR and managers you are told no overtime is available but you are forced to work to work overtime. 5. You will be told all work will be in local area or at a maximum still in the same county but I have never traveled less than 200 miles to get to the job plus 200 back home each day so expect to drive a minimum of 1,000 miles per week for free. 6. If you devide your salary by the hours you have worked it is less than national minimum wage. For example an average week will be 70 hours per week -
Pros
None
Cons
Overtime is not paid, van charging time is not paid, travel time is not paid, expenses are not refunded.

Treat u like a machine . You're just a number. Went back from maternity to find my old job no longer existed without a word of communication. Money was ok but avoid if u actually want to feel like a human

Fun work place
Supplies Assistant (Current Employee) - NDC Leicester - 30 August 2023
Demanding, low rate overtime if there is any. No bonuses for extra mile. Managers expect miracles but you get a free parking. Company on the downhill

Not the place it used to be
Customer Service Advisor (Current Employee) - Home Based - 12 July 2023
Was a great place to work, but going through a fire and rehire process changed everything. It's cold, toxic, has unrealistic and demotivating expectations, and mental health means very little. Sad times

Senior Customer Service Agent (Former Employee) - Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh - 29 June 2023
Customers are abusive and I mean they are terrible to you, back to back calls constantly with no break between. The expectations are crazy with no time to do anything , workload is unmanageable. If u value ur mental health I just wouldn’t.
Pros
Working from home
Cons
Absolutely everything

Very unprofessional and stressful environment.
Customer Resolutions Agent (Current Employee) - Leicester, Leicestershire - 27 June 2023
Terrible from the start. The position and contract did not match the position advertised when applying and when it was questioned after a while management simply stated 'Nothing we can do now, no point beating a dead horse'. The extensive training was useless as it was outdated and not even relevant for the position applied for and even though everyone had to learn on the job there was no leeway given for this when we were being warned about our poor performances. The performance reviews were uninformative and what the company wants is frequently changing so all the staff members are frequently being criticised since what was right yesterday is now the worst thing you can do 24 hours later. Management is just as confused as the agents, frequently relaying incorrect, old or useless information and expecting agents to be able to perform as expected regardless. Good work is barely ever rewarded even if they tell you that you will receive the reward, but they will definitely let you know all of your errors even if they are few and few between. On the plus side, the pay is good, some customers are nice and there is a wide range of benefits and necessary resources available. I cannot say I would really recommend applying if you cannot deal with job uncertainty as the threat of losing your job is ever looming.

Poor lesdership
Learning & Development Manager (Former Employee) - Dartford, Kent - 6 June 2023
Did not enjoy working here. Lack of students. Poor support from kind manager. Office manager strutted round the place like he was in charge and was rude

Mostly on your own
Heating Engineer (Former Employee) - Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh - 6 June 2023
Working alone can be hard but meeting and helping new customers every day is really satisfying. Always a manager you can call on for and technical help.

Alright place to work
Gas Engineer (Current Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 2 June 2023
Not a job for the laid back you must be willing to work under pressure. All about figures and how much you can sell. Work wanted is quantity over quality

OK if your face fits
Customer Advisor (Current Employee) - Leeds, West Yorkshire - 10 April 2023
Hard to progress and they are really disrespectful and like to invade your privacy. The job is simple but it is not the type of company you will work for long term if you have choices. They will also do everything they can to make sure you do not get good bonuses.
Pros
Work from home
Cons
Everything else

Fine to work for
Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 30 March 2023
Busy lines with calls coming in back to back. Team leader was supportive. Worked from home so didn't have to deal with background noise. Hardest part of role was dealing with angry customers.

Administrator (Former Employee) - Rotherham, England - 24 March 2023
Mostly decent place to work with good benefits but this is a company that somehow endures despite itself.
