Teaching Assistant in Redcar, North Yorkshire
on 21 April 2022
So far so good 👍
I started working for CER just before the start of the easter holidays so I'm not exactly an expert on this company. Once I had finally got my DBS back it was pretty much plain sailing. I spoke to my agent and he quickly set me up with a few days work in my local town working as a teachers assistant. Fantastic! I turned up to the school pretty worried that I was going to be overwhelmed but it was an amazing experience, all the kids are challenging in their own way but I found it so easy to fit in (although I have never done this type of work before) and so much more comfortable than my previous work in the underpaid and overworked care sector! Straight after I finished that day my agent rang to say "well done" and the school wanted me back till the end of the week. I was elated. Today I found out that the same school want me back until the end of next term. I literally can't believe my luck (so far) in finding this job. Apparently there is a good possibility that I will have extra hours through the holidays too. The biggest bonus to this job is that you can choose to get your holidays pay in with your wages every week or have it paid throughout the year! Amazing benefit and it means that I won't need to look for temporary work 😊

Very flexible, money isn’t the greatest
They have loads of placements, some might be more ideal than others for location. Pay isn’t the greatest. Have to factor in no pay for weeks at a time (summer holidays, half terms etc)
