Great place to work
Care Assistant current employment (Former Employee) - Cumbria - 22 September 2023
Really enjoy my job at cera care . We have a very supportive manager in Cumbria team who fought to get us all pay rises. Our job isn't easy sometime you can work long hours but it's worth it for the service users . And weekly pay is always a bonus. Normally a typical shifts starts at 6.45 till 2 then 3pm till 10pm and plenty of choice to pick up extra if you need any spare cash.
Pros
Weekly pay
Cons
Sometimes can have long hours

Terrible place to work
Carer (Current Employee) - Kent - 9 September 2023
This company is one of the worst care companies I have ever known. Double booking, no travel time, wages not paid correctly. Only find out your work load the day before. Expected to work without breaks

Caring Business
Field Care Supervisor (Current Employee) - Essex and Havering - 7 September 2023
I started as a carer and worked my way up by learning something new and becoming anmoying to be given new challenges You need to be a people person for this role and be able to have at times a difficulte conversation You need to be able to plan well and be flexible Each day is different with different challenges I can be completing a new care plan review supporting clients with OT reviews or medical assistance with GPs or coaching carers on the job or working in the office I aim to learn something new daily Management are supportive and the workplace culture can differ from day The hardest part of the job for me is trying to squeeze to much in one day The most enjoyable part of my job is ensuring clients are safe and well knowing I had a part to play in that
Pros
Able to help others
Cons
Can be long hours

Physically draining job
Carer (Former Employee) - Fife - 6 September 2023
Clients are amazing and I appreciate everything you do but you work for 11 hours a day and only get paid for 7, you don't get paid for staying longer (and it happens all the time) , you don't get paid for your driving time (and it's a loooot of driving) , you check your schedule and see that you'll be working 10 days in a row. The money is a joke. Some managers are nice, but some are angry if you phone them and ask questions. They never give you enough PPE so you need to buy gloves etc. Just avoid !!!!
Pros
great clients
Cons
everything else

No communication and constantly phoning wanting you to do extra hours no breaks What is the work environment and culture like at the company? If your liked fine if not its shocking What is a typical day like for you at the company? Never anytime to have break and extra clients being added all the time without telling you .

Better company's out there.
Carer Assistant (Current Employee) - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire - 26 August 2023
Not a great company to work for, favourites and newbies get priority over work. Lowest paid company in the city. Promises full time hours but when rota comes it's empty. No one wants to listen and help. Avoid at all costs.

Care Assistant (Current Employee) - Sauchie, Clackmannanshire - 24 August 2023
They are welcoming to people with no previous experience as they will get to train you. Always available to help if you get stuck. Flexible work schedule, they also give room for advancement in career. Overall I know I enjoy being a part to Cera

Stressful
Care Assistant (Current Employee) - Derbyshire - 24 August 2023
The salary should be increased to commensurate the work stress. Staff relationships should be more cordial and professional. The company should reconsider the costs on drivers, and possibly provide vehicles or increase the payment for mileage.
Pros
Company cars should be provided
Cons
Long hours

Don't pay
Home Care Worker (Former Employee) - Oldham, Greater Manchester - 17 August 2023
Don't give you contractual hours nor pay for them. You will need to riase grievance to get them to pay you! I felt like working with rejects( staff) , nobody wants them so they hired by cera, staff talking about their problems to service users, not changing gloves after cleaning commode, some of them no patience whatsoever. The most unprofessional place I've ever worked at.
Pros
Nice service user
Cons
Some staff and management were Terrible

Great management
Domiciliary Care Worker (Former Employee) - Aberdeen - 12 August 2023
I worked 1.5 years for the Ellon branch as a care assistant. I started there without no experience and learned everything I know with the help of my colleagues and management. Today I do not work there anymore but due to supporting environment progressed towards my nursing degree. I am greatful to a lovely management for always listening and trying to accommodate my suggestions and concerns if it was escalated. They always treated me, my collegues and service users with great respect and understanding. I have nothing just good words to say. It is a difficult but rewarding job.
Pros
Management, collegues
Cons
Wage

I find the branch support is above the norm.
Deputy Manager (Current Employee) - Wirral, Merseyside - 11 August 2023
I find the branch support is above the norm. I've worked in care for 20 years and this is the best company I've worked for. I always feel valued and listened to. My opinions are taken on board and implemented when appropriate. I cannot speak highly enough of the Wallasey branch. Thank you for supporting me throughout my care career.
Pros
Helpful staff, very rewarding career.
Cons
Not enough recognition for the care sector

Relaxed work place
Specialist Services (Current Employee) - Old Trafford, Greater Manchester - 9 August 2023
The work in Cera Care is relaxed. Company is paying for DBS, training, uniform, etc. Cera will pay to us if we take any compulsory online training. I recommend Cera to my friends.
Pros
Friendly working atmosphere
Cons
No food during working hours, assigning shift is still manually by managers, I hope it will be changed to select the available shifts direct by employees.
