Good laugh
Good laugh with the lads but really behind the other competition in our area a specially with the age of the wagons if you get black marked they will find a way of getting rid of you.
Retail Assistant in Glasgow
on 18 April 2022
My role is relaxed, no pressure from management can be flexible if needing away early and can make the time up. Most staff are helpful if you need anything. Above the nmw paid at £9.50 per hour.
Sales Assistant in Scotland

Overall: I recommend avoiding Certas Energy as unfortunately, they only care about profit (to a fault), and this is at expense of their employees on so many levels.Work-life balance:Simply awful. Worked here over 3 years and didn't see a christmas morning with my family during that time. Certas garages are often short-staffed and newbies / younger staff members are given the unsociable hours. You always end up working more than you signed up for - one time I went six months without a weekend off.Managers call you on your days off with no notice to come in and cover shifts and you are expected to say yes or you will be treated like a pariah. No consideration regarding shift delegation for employees who are also students - despite this being required by law.Salary/Benefits:Very poor. National Minimum wage to do the 4 different job descriptions while on shift by yourself (sales assistant, cleaner, deliveries/stock replenishment, security) No extra pay for working weekends or bank holidays.Night shift was FORTY PENCE extra an hour.Job security/advancement:Not the kind of place you want to work if you are interested in having a good career. No opportunities for progression unless you want to be an overworked and under supported petrol station manager... which no one does.Management:I don't say this lightly... Management in Certas Energy is very toxic. There are good people who work there too but they are few and far between.Managers often hire their friends/family to work for them, creating a cliquey atmosphere where they can play favourites.Job Culture:No one gets paid enough to give a ****.Apologies for being blunt - but this is the truth.

Company full of greed
They want to make money but won't invest back in the company wagons are not fit for purpose managers only care about getting their bonus and they don't want to give us a pay rise when drivers of skip wagons are on more than us
