Grounds Maintenance Operative (Current Employee) - Lincolnshire - 19 July 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Letting me get on with my work What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Having a young team member that won't listen to instructions What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Enjoyable. No 2 days are the same What is a typical day like for you at the company? Start early. Work hard. Finish late.

Do not work for ground control !
operative (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 24 June 2023
My time working as an operative at Ground Control turned out to be an incredibly negative experience, primarily due to the way my concerns about the lack of profit in the assigned jobs were handled. What initially seemed promising quickly soured as I found myself chasing an elusive carrot that never materialized. From the onset, there was a clear discrepancy between the promises made and the reality of the job. I was lured in with the prospect of profitable assignments, only to discover that the jobs I was given had little to no profit margin. This lack of transparency left me feeling deceived and undervalued, as if my efforts were being exploited for minimal financial gain. When I mustered the courage to raise my concerns about the profitability of the jobs, my apprehensions were met with dismissiveness and indifference. Instead of addressing my valid points, I was met with empty reassurances and vague promises. It became apparent that my concerns were not being taken seriously, and my value as an employee was being disregarded. Moreover, the lack of support and guidance further exacerbated the situation. Rather than providing the necessary resources and assistance to improve profitability, I felt left to navigate the challenging circumstances alone. The company's failure to acknowledge and address the issue demonstrated a lack of commitment to the success and well-being of their employees. The overall work environment at Ground Control was demoralizing and disheartening. Instead of fostering an atmosphere of open communication and mutual respect, there was a sense of favoritism -
Pros
A carrot
Cons
Deceptive

Dont work here, poor enviromemt
Grounds Maintenance Operative (Former Employee) - Essex - 20 July 2022
Where to begin... i started working here in february 2022 and left recently, in the job advert it simply stated past experience is preffered, and driving licence is required as we would be covering the whole of our surrounding area and would their for need to to drive a transit van, a few people had neither past experience or a driving licence so people like myself would have to drive so far in a day often without a back up driver just incase i injured myself to the point where i couldnt drive. The job is overall one to avoid as its a minimum wage paying company and you have to do so much overtime its unreal, they simply stated 7am-5pm but their was loads of 7am-7pm days. So overall do i recommend this company ? No, would i work their again ? Not even if i was being paid 4 grand a mont untaxed money, so overall AVOID THIS COMPANY NO MATTER WHAT.

Hard work but worth it!
Assistant Operations Manager (Former Employee) - Norwich - 15 June 2022
Hard work at times but worth the effort. Plenty of opportunities for progression within the company in different departments and areas. Lots of people start off as seasonal grounds maintenance operatives and then go on to train as tree surgeons, landscapers or team leaders.
Pros
Progression

Sinking ship
Team Leader (Current Employee) - Everywhere - 12 April 2022
Extremely poor management that have taken on a new contract which they have no knowledge about and are trying to completely change how it was run before. This is a company that can’t even provide the correct kit, they have half the workers wearing old ppe from the previous company including hi vis tops that are branded by fountains ocs.

Worst company I have ever been involved with
Operative (Current Employee) - Cgm - 30 March 2022
If I could rate it below one star I would. Overworked, underpaid, understaffed, constantly lied to by management, very very high staff turnover, do not fix machinery when broken, when given a task management do not tell you the full job so you do what you can then you're held accountable because you didn't finish the job properly, promised training (for nearly 2 years) that has never materialized. The list is endless. Once I can find a more suitable job I will be gone
