Cleaner (part-time) (Former Employee) - Bodicote House - 30 June 2023
Keep in mind that it's a government body, so expect lots of box ticking and other bureaucratic nonsense. Goal posts ( including work hours) subject to change with every new member of management. Make sure you are ok with this before applying.
Pros
Sick pay, government pension 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
Cons
Calls from supervisor outside of work hours/micro managing

Reasonable employer, sometimes stressful due to nature of work and changing government policies. Work depends on department, home /working split. Specialised computer systems depending on department

Watch out for the annual pay increment
Planning Officer (Former Employee) - Bodicote, Oxfordshire - 4 February 2020
Ok
Beware of the annual pay increment.
It can't be accessed for the first 12 months and may be even longer.
That means that you don't see an increment for the first 2 years, so factor that in

Very friendly and helpful workplace.
Recycling Promoter (Former Employee) - Banbury, ENG - 4 September 2013
We would go out to a rural area to advise people on recycling. I learnt how to ask the right questions and how to use the right approach to the people we spoke to on their doorstep. The management approach was very encouraging and did not set us any tasks that we thought were unfair or unachievable in the timeframe. The team I worked with were extremely friendly and had no major issues whatsoever. The hardest part of the job was the weather. Working outside all day, it isn't ideal when the weather takes a turn for the worst! The most enjoyable part of the job was having a shift with people who were cooperative when being approached. it makes getting the point across a lot easier.
Pros
flexible hours
Cons
waiting around on certain days for management to assign us a task
