High standard of cleaning now gone down the Toilet, it is like they just don't care anymore.

What is the best part of working at the company? We worked as a Sub Contractor for ASDA before we became ASDA staff. So we where not directly linked to ASDA. We where a bit more free to roam and work in peace, unlike now as it is all going downhill now we are ASDA. Standards have gone as if the management don't care how filthy ASDA has become. We not allowed to do work to a high standard anymore, crazy i know. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Losing hours to our contracts almost every year until 2022 when we became part of ASDA. Cleaning standards have gone down fast even in Fresh and Cooking areas. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Most worked on own initiative and we where never accepted as ASDA employers and boy did they make us feel awful. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Very busy with no time to talk to anyone. Most did their work in different areas of a store which we where and still are.

Trying

Can be demanding the store staff are more friendly them the team you work with work life is well balanced the overall company is nice to work for few nice benefits

Pest control is managed like a 40s German military. No family life. Huge orders to fill in a huge area. An absolute shambles.

Do NOT work there. Not worth the stress. Unless of course you want impossible tasks, never see your family and get treated like the enemy. Work there.

Pros

Money and free rubbish tea/coffee

Cons

Oh where to start

Good people rubbish hours

Night work was rough with these guys. Nice enough company but the hours were long and you were expected to travel all over the UK. Accommodation was paid for which was a plus.

Loved but hated working under asda

I love working for city, but ultimately hated having asda breathing down your neck at all times, and not accepting the terms that they set themselves,

Terrible

The turnover is shocking, its a revolving door. If you are friends with management then you have a chance of promotion, if not then dont even bother. You can work hard, help out etc but if you are not friends with them, you will not go anywhere. They got hacked but never told any staff their data could be compromised until two months later, didn't even tell their clients or customers. You are just a number. If you died, your job would be advertised within 30 mins. Don't waste your time if you are looking for a career and progression.

Pros

Free cheap food

Cons

Management, cliques, progression, high turnover

Unrealistic work loads, favouritism,

Worked at city for a year the management was poor from if two people had a holiday booked the favourite would be picked, too managers giving favourite employees a boost up when we were all racing redundancy. The way your spoke too and the work load it was unrealistic then having to give updates on exact times or threatened with a warning. Employees who were friendly with managers being allowed to sit back and do nothing. Wasn’t given any help as promised when facing redundancy.

Great

Great company & fantastic, supportive colleagues. I only left due to relocation but would recommend City to anyone looking for customer support work. Team leaders were always happy to help when needed.

A Sense of ownership and leadership

No two days are the same, lots of interactions at all levels within the company, and nobody will not support us irrespective of their level - we are one team.FM is a tough business but when you have a great boss who is always available to support you and give you enough space to grow and develop.Great work-life balance with the ability to plan & prioritize your workload and movements.Work can be hard, and systems are not easy at times to navigate, but if you are able to manage more old-school Excel you will be okay.

Pros

Way your managed - respective and with support with great ownership

Cons

I'm sure more salary and more benefits in line with todays workplace would be great

Cons
