There isn't enough work for all the drivers.almost no return work even though they say there is .overall nice people but you will have one brilliant wk then nothing the next.they have a very high turnover of staff due to this.
When there's work
I worked at Birmingham branch for a couple of years and in that time I did ok for myself, I was lucky to get on one of the regular contracts which kept me fairly busy, without it I had to scrap with others for what was available, the controller's do a fantastic job trying to keep everyone happy and trying to be fair, I was lucky getting the odd backload but to be honest ran back empty, if I was to give a figure on my earnings I would say over 2 years I earned 50k, but expenses had to come out, fuel, van costs and insurance.Would I go back?, probably would because, I've worked at worse places.
Good team in office.
If I was to be critical, probably to many drivers.
I did weekday evening deliveries in my own vehicle, there was never too many parcels and the distance wasn't too bad but the problem is that some deliveries were to businesses that were closed for the day before I even started my shift, this wasted valuable time. Also, not everyone was in anyway so you then have to try neighbours who didn't always want to help by taking parcels in. Lack of geographical knowledge was not helpful, I was going places I'd only ever heard of, never been there. Trying to find somewhere to park was a pain as was trying to find some addresses, company satnav or address details not accurate.
Easy enough work, good pay, only 4 hours per shift
Can be a wear on your car, poor directions or address info
They will use you and take advantage of you, pay is absolutely poor, they make you drive like a donkey, sometimes they book you a shift and you relay on it but by the time your reach your pick up location they tell you the job has been cancelled and the don't pay anything, you end up wasting your time and money for nothing. When I say poor, it means really poor!

Is Indeed your favorite place to learn about companies?
I started as a self employed Courier - insurance costs very high plus van and fuel costs Was told 80p per mile but not true! First day I drove 330 miles, put £50 of fuel in the van and drove for 8 hours. Total pay was £67.50 LESS £24 admin fee so net earned for 8 hours was £3.50. I was sent out of area so was entiled to additional payment but they did not tell me that at any point during the recruitment and start up process or when they gave me the job, I was only told after the event when I complained and it was too late. Then waited 3 weeks for my payment. They do not seem to want to retain drivers or care about their own company reputation at all, they are taking advantage of people desparate to work. I do not see how anyone can ever make a living driving for City Sprint!!
Long hours, stressfull for very little money
Work life balance got less and less as shifts got later and unpaid overtime was just expected. Left exhausted, stressed and demoralised and had 4 managers in 4 years as they kept coming and going because of the conditions. Kept reducing staff when needed the opposite which left those left behind working even harder and longer for no benefit.
Poor management, hours
Bad management was not set up to take the best out of the people that are best for the job communication was very poor from the top to bottom could do with all standers to be brought up to date kind regards
lots of over time
City Sprint they ask you for all document then send you an email about a video interview and attach a time reminder but what they don't tell you is the reminder is for wrong time then got snotty when you missed it if you like your sanity avoid like the plague.
None what so ever
Every thing about the company
A job where you can earn a good salary if you are willing to work long hours. Work and life balance needs attention. Helpful team if you face problem for example if you find yourself without a vehicle due to mechanical problems. Also flexible with hours if you have childcare commitments. A good team in the office at plympton
Dreadful company they promise the earth at the interview but you land up losing money with dead mileage all the time. They'll quote you one price for a job then pay you way under that. The only people who make any money are managements pets. You would make more flipping burgers at the local kebab shop. If you value your mental health DO NOT WORK FOR THESE SCUMBAGS. Be warned
