Lots to do

Indeed featured review

I wouldn't even recommend this for a first job. The company doesn't care about it's workers only hitting targets and they constantly have you lone trading which is dangerous. Some of the staff members I worked with were absolutely amazing!! The pay is RUBBISH for all the work they expect you to do. my DSM was a complete tool. Steer clear unless you’re desperate

Lacklustre, demanding

It’s basically a minimum wage retail job - demanding and lacklustre. Not enough pay, too much effort, though it is a positive environment. It gets quite busy in the holidays and on weekends, but school time is calm.

All-female teams usually, if that’s important to anyone.

Not being able to sit on the clock.

There's a LOT to change.

- Mediocre management- Poor remuneration- No real consideration for workers' mental health- Little flexibility / WLB- Little to no consideration for employee sentiments

Great as a part time job, obviously have to be ok working with kids, extra hours usually available if needed. Good diversity in coworkers and laid back approach

Busy and stressful

Long days, mainly lone trading as soon as you are made a key holder whether you feel ready or not, made to cover other stores, have to pierce babies as young as 4 and a half months.

Too much

Claire’s thrives to stay in trend with teens and the times. With planogram changing every 4-6 weeks, deliveries every single day and tasking every minute of every day. There’s always something to do to the point where it becomes confusing and tiring. Of course you don’t go to work to sit, but all the tasking takes away from customer service and customers are rarely ever satisfied. Always understaffed as well and people lone trading on a daily basis.

Not great place people are very bad with miscommunication and lots of liars come with the job

I wouldn’t reccomend working there especially if your under 18 as you get treated like a child and not like a adult you also will find they break a lot of laws in The company

Ear piercing training

Bad pay

Worst job i have ever had.

Small team - not the problem. Expected to lone trade after learning to be a keyholder after a week, no support, general transphobia towards other staff members. Management encourage bitchiness and generally don't care about work/ life balance. No job security as heard rumours of management cutting down hours until people could not afford to live and had to find other jobs.

Worst company ive ever worked for

I’m going to break this down into bullet points because there’s so much to say about this company:•the company underpaid me almost every month, and then paid me late one month because they “accidentally” deleted me as an employee of the system.•the company don’t care about their employees• you have an hour of ear piercing training then you’re expected to pierce customers including 4 month old babies straight away.• management is awful• the company don’t care if you have disabilities you’re expected to get on with the work• your breaks are almost always interrupted to go and serve customers• minimum wage • no secure contracts, only 4 or 8 hour contracts for sales assistants and supervisors so there is absolutely no security. •rotas always sent the night before the new week so you never know when you’re working• I had to leave the company because all the stress made me so mentally ill. • managers make a quarterly bonus off of the sales the sales assistants put through and the KPIs the SALES ASSISTANTS work hard for. •management talk about other employees and managers behind their backs. •you’re not a living breathing person to this company, you’re just a number. If you’re applying to work for this company , just don’t.

You are a tiny cog in a machine that dose give a toss.

Claire's demands all your flexibility but offers none in return, rotas were only given on a friday for 1 week ahead with weeks starting on a sunday, theres no ability to plan your life with this job as rotas can and will be changed at the drop of a hat.I have worked at several stores as cover is always needed due to high turnover of staff/sheer lack of staff. The culture at claires is very "I live to work" with many staff not asking management or upper management for help.No such thing as off work, you will recive messages from management outside of your hours. The discount is nice but it really dosent compensate for the stress of this job, regularly received an amount of free stock though this may be something that will end as it was a covid measure, no dental or other benifitsPay was reasonable, babove minimum wage, the problem comes from the lack of hours, many staff given only 4hr contracts so one week you could be doing 30-40 hours and the next just 4.You MUST pierce. If you dont they will let you go. Training is very minimal, cleanliness is good though, equipment is fine.

Terrible place to work!

I just started working here and no joke it doesn’t feel like a normal retail job. I was pushed into the role too quick and I’m not sure to this day what I’m doing. Constantly moaned at and getting no help even after saying. Not a fun or motivating place to work. Don’t work here.

Good discount

30 min break. Horrible start and end of day routine.

Stressful unfairly treated

Stressful at times and unfairly treated and Claire's expect more from you and giving up free time and working for free at times cause deadlines and job can make you feel depressed and low and even worse let bullying happen in company due to not nice staff to work in depends on store and gets worse before it can be fixed so job safety or progressing in company good luck with that tbh nothing to get top realie and also lack of training too is very rushed and also be prepared to work solo aswell due to lack of staff and giving up time planned with family or friends aswell cause u will get called last min due to hardly any staff or cover like not fun place to work wouldn't really recommend to anyone

Not what it used to be

Too many changes and lot more expectations and workload but not enough time for all the tasks. Bad work life balance. Great colleagues and good discount

Just don’t apply

These are a couple things I found I hated while working at Claire’s -1). They force you to do ear piercing even if it’s something you don’t feel ready to do/comfortable doing. 2). They make you travel to other stores to work when there are no staff. This becomes a regular occurrence due to a high staff turn over.3). Every store you go in is a mess within the staff areas and stockrooms, no organisation whatsoever and no security within any part of the store premises. In some stores there are even bugs within staff areas (silver fish mainly).4). Everything for back office work is outdated, literally everything is done on paper not any computer system like other retailers.5). Unnecessary deliveries of around 2 to 7 boxes every single day with stock that isn’t needed at all. 5). No display organisation whatsoever just clutter throughout the shop floor.Would not recommend working here at all.

Good First Job

first job as a teenager, good for building up retail experience to use for other jobs. Poor pay - a couple of pence over minimum wage (just over £4/hour at that time). Was offered to stay on after fixed contract end but didn't want to pierce ears so they couldn't upgrade contract.

friendly collegues

Stressful work place

They put way to much pressure on you for very little pay. There is a very high staff turnaround and its really no surprise with the way they treat staff.

Awful pay

Most awful company on earth

The management are the worse.Long lone trading. No benefits for employees with long serving service. Staff turn over is very poor. The company can never keep anyone longer then 3 months. The mangers are bunch of bullies and have no people skills, never lone managing shop. The work you do for the pay is pathetic. The most stressful place. Very pressured on selling and hitting targets.

Nothing what so ever

Long hours. Responsibilities you do not get extra pay for
