Lovely staff & nice environment

Great place to work - everyone was friendly and it was always enjoyable to go into work everyday. Short shifts and paid the minimum wage. Lots of tasks and things to keep busy with

First Job

Good first-job experience, management were friendly, plenty of training received and opportunities to progress. Back to school period were the toughest both in terms of what was expected from staff and competitiveness for shifts.

Productive and fun workplace with kids

Employee Discounts: One of the standout perks of working at Clarks is the generous employee discount on their footwear. It allowed me to own some high-quality and stylish shoes at a fraction of the cost.Work-Life Balance: The company respects work-life balance. Scheduling was flexible, and they made efforts to accommodate personal commitments, which I greatly appreciated.Cons:Busy Periods: Like any retail job, there were busy seasons where the store could get hectic. Managing customer expectations during peak times could be challenging.Sales Targets: Meeting sales targets was a key part of the job. While it kept me motivated, it could also be stressful at times.

Fun and lovely place to work

I meet all colleagues in Clarks Exeter are super nice and fun to work with. Although I have little bit stressful in the back to school session, overall I work in fun working environment.

Busy, fast-paced, target-orientated.

I worked in the stock team. Typical day involved unpacking delivery, tidying/organising stockrooms and various other jobs. Can be physically tiring at times. Colleagues are mostly young people and friendly. Management is often over-demanding and condescending. Hours are quite flexible and free shoes for employees. Pay is not that competitive compared to other retailers or food places.

good summer job

good place for a summer job, good pay, nice people but can be stressful but not too overwhelming during the last few weeks of summer, though can get boring as not much to do once back to school is over.

Productive

Really enjoyed working here, started as a temp and was taken on permanent. Working hours of 6am to 2pm were great and my manager was good.I worked in many different areas and learnt how to pack at speed which really keeps you fit.

Great for a first job

Job is great for a first job or a temporary job, however it is heavily target based and not much opportunity to advance but the team and managers are there to support you the whole way.

Good commission

Worked here during Christmas which was a very busy period. Had to sell at least two pairs of shoes for each customer which was difficult especially for someone who is not so outgoing or good at selling things.

Friendly work environment

Its a good place to work serving different types of customers and kids who come to buy their school shoes and their first pair of shoes. There not much a stress to deal with at workplace.

Would not recommend.

Place is filled with gossip and a lack of support, from both managers and other employees. Management team is rude and there’s a constant feeling of disapproval that comes from them. Only benefit is that it pays well especially for younger people, would only recommend for part time temporary work. The stress that comes from the role and the staff is not worth it.

Shoddy company

Stores run badly. No commercial sense and quite amateurish. Staff treated like naughty primary school children. Passive aggressive environment created by store and area management. Say that the customer is at the centre of all they do but in reality their own self importance gets in the way of that.

Good pay

Good pay for students and you get a pair of free shoes Busy during back to school season but they pay extra during bank holidays and you are trained well
