Can be stressful
Managers were not very understanding when it came to work life balance Getting days off was hard due to rota being given weeks in advance Clear favouritismStress meeting targets

A busy and social workplace
Lots of interaction with customers, building great social skills. Training provided on starting including children shoe fitting - so feel prepared for the role.

long hours, no thanks
Just not a fun place to work anymore, it used to be. But the constant pulling of hours and staff made life so difficult and a total lack of understanding from those higher up.

Mostly enjoyable!
I loved my time there, my manager was lovely, the interview was easy enough, & the team I worked with were all so easy to get on with. Most days it’s pretty quiet, if you can sell then you’ll have no issues. Most shifts are 4-6hours depending on your contract, so easy to fit in around home life. The only issue for me was the pay. It’s minimum wage which, while not awful, is also not great considering how often you might be needed to cover someone else’s shift, as stores are expected to run on a shoestring staff. Breaks are unpaid, & the Back to School season over summer is frankly a frantic rush, & the only time the job is “fast-paced”. Overall I enjoyed working there, it’s not difficult work, & most of the customers are pretty easy to get along with, as were the staff at the store I worked at.

Fast paced and best for quick learners
Has little to no sympathy for personal life outside of Clarks and you’re only allowed holidays certain times of the year. Managements holidays always take priority and if you don’t put in for all you’re holidays at the start of the year, they are just given to you even though you could need them at other times
