Good teams but underpaid

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
If you find a good team then it’s an enjoyable place to work. Don’t feel like there is enough support for trainee dental nurses because of staffing issues so nobody has time to train them properly. Poor pay

Love Clyde Munro

I love my job with Clyde Munro. I have found them amazing to work for. If you have issues there is always someone to talk to. Super supportive. Great opportunities. I have worked in a number of practices and I have 16 years experience I think they are great. Don’t believe all the bad reviews

Very unsupportive and extremely toxic environment

Clyde and Munro promote staff wellbeing but I have never felt so let down and unsupported in a working environment by management. I felt pushed out of the practice due to issues not getting resolved. I found the working environment very toxic and not a very nice place to be. Staff are always expected to go above and beyond with no appreciation or extra pay. I do not recommend anyone to work for this company.

Poor pay for experienced nurses

Poor pay even for experienced nurses with little scope for increasing - when asked to increase pay I was told it was already in line with the cost of living ( absolutely isn’t)Not great holiday allowanceNo sick pay or pay for appointments like drs or hospital - had a hospital appointment and to have this 4hrs paid I had to put it through as a half day holiday - really poor treatment. Not much positives for this company - I like the practice I’m at due to the staff being lovely.

Not the best support

Extremely toxic and no help from HR No empathy from management all they are interested in is making money no employee welfare at all. They talk a good game and say they take mental health seriously they do not care about you brutal and lack of compassion for their employees disgusting

Supportive place to work

I have worked with Clyde Munro for 4 years. I really enjoy working for them and find all of the support fantastic. It is great to be part of a group as there are plenty of opportunities and varied roles that you can progress in to.

Worst job I've had unfortunately

When I interviewed here I was excited to join a corporate. I thought I'd have more guidance/support to grow my career in dentistry. When I arrived on my first day, the practice manager wasn't in so the girls didn't know to expect me. They had to phone the manager and they told me 'sit on reception and take notes' which I did. (I had been nursing for 5 years prior so it wasn't like I was a trainee who needed to take notes on how a practice runs) The next few months I realised the job wasn't what I was told it would be. I'd often have to stay late which was unpaid when the dentists ran over, we often ran into our lunches and the feeling within the team was always quite low. My practice manager was good but she soon left and they couldn't find a replacement so we had no support day-to-day and I didnt speak to anyone from management for months as no one really bothered to check up on the nurses. They only seem to care about the associate who bring the cash in. I sadly wouldn't recommend.

Pros

Great manager to start with

Cons

Long hours, unpaid overtime.

Great, supportive company!!

I have been with Clyde Munro for 5 years. I started as a dental nurse and have progressed and developed a massive amount thanks to the support of regional managers. Everyone from HR, facilities, operations, accounts, practice teams are all really nice and approachable. There is always someone to lend a helping hand if needed. Very well structured as they have policies and procedures in place which all staff get training on. They have recently given wage raises due to the cost of living crisis to help support staff, they offer support if you are ever struggling financially, mentally or physically. I would not work anywhere else as I do not believe I would get the support and opportunities that I do at Clyde Munro.

Great company

Since our practice was bought over in July I can honestly say that Clyde Munro and the regional manager have supported me and the whole team in every way possible. A few teething problems at the beginning but anything that was an issue was sorted out immediately. Great supportive manager, a great company to work for

Pros

Lots of courses to chose from, extra training and support whenever needed

Great group to work for

I joined clyde Munro 18 months ago - I was recommended by friends . I was really hesitant as I had worked with a group before and I swore i would never do it again . The practice I joined are excellent and even working with a group you are given the freedom to look after and work with the team as if your own team . There are plenty opportunities to progress should you wish to do so .

Pros

Flexible hours, progression, bonus scheme, recognition scheme and so much more

Cons

None

Excellent place to work!

Clyde Munro is in a league of its own. They genuinely care about their staff and go above and beyond to support people and try to keep everyone happy, despite the challenges faced around the country. The investment in staff and learning opportunities within the company are second to none. The role itself comes with challenges and stress but I work within a brilliant team which certainly helps :)

Pros

Excellent support and learning opportunities

Cons

Can sometimes be hard to manage work life balance

Good opportunities, nice team

I worked for the company for 3 years and enjoy the practice I work in. We have a great team and I have had quite a lot of training opportunities. We get support from our regional manager but our practice is quite independent.

Pros

good team, training

Cons

busy, pay
