It's all about the young people
No 2 days are ever the same. It's a pick 'n' pix of sweet with sour. But every part is about the care and support for the young people. The rewards come from them in the smallest and most subtle ways. Every day a new perspective/ new understanding informs how you care. A tough skin, resilient mind and empathetic mentality are needed.

**Avoid this company at all costs**
I came to compass as a Residential Support Worker and worked my way up to being a Senior Residential Support Worker. After a new management team took over the home I was working with, I didn't agree with there style of working and they expected far too much from myself. I would work above my contracted hours each month and this was still never good enough. The higher management within the company was also poor at this time as there was a ROM whom stepped in whilst the current ROM was on maternity leave and she had no idea what she was doing and didn't support the home or the north one bit. The best part of the job for me was the children however, due to how badly the home was managed we were overworked and under appreciated by all and this impacted onto the children as they saw this. The overall mural within the home and the company is very poor and unless you are liked and a part of higher management then essentially the company don't care for you or your needs. On several occasions I wasn't allowed to take annual leave due to the lack of staff within the home. I do strongly believe that there is one rule for the management within compass and one rule for everyone else.

Fun work place
I am happy with my work role. The team I work with is very supportive and proactive. I have a good working manager who support the team. I also have a good working balance.

Job with a real purpose and great senior management
Since starting at compass I feel like I finally have a job with a purpose. The Senior management I work with are both encouraging and supportive and I regularly receive recognition for the work I do. Not a week has passed that I haven't learnt something new which has enabled me to fulfill the needs the company efficiently. Everyday is different and it can get extremely busy, which although is stressful at times, makes the days and weeks fly by. Workplace culture is always positively promoted and this year alone a number of staff benefits were introduced including a mental health and well-being day added to our annual leave allowance.
