Good company to work for but not enough hours and and not enough wages but good a enough for a single person. You interact with the residents on a daily basis and offer entertainment at weekends. It can be fast pase at times but are supported when needed. There is always someone there if needed

Stay clear

Don’t think I have anything positive to say about my job whilst I was there. Was constantly stressed due to short staff and no one wanted to jump in and help. Get blamed for things that are way out of you’re pay grade and your actual duties. Management only care about themselves. You are just a number

Don't do their private events! Managers are belittling but most staff are okay.

I enjoyed my race days as the team leaders on race days are friendly. However, on private events, I was belittled: talked about as if I wasn't there, and had a tray shoved in my face by my supervisor to "go collect the glasses" although my job was behind the bar and they had glass collectors. I was asked rudely "Are you sure you're a bartender?" as I asked how the tills (which I had NOT worked on) work and what was the house wine as I didn't have wine and mainly worked on serving drinks while another worked the till on the race days.

very difficult place to work

The job itself is fine, hard work as involves cooking as well as management duties. The problem with the job is that you are working for two companies in effect, and compass needs to keep it wage bill down in order to make money on the contract. This means that you never have enough staff to do the job properly unfortunately.

Management was frustrating to say the least never organised, always failed to sort timetables out properly and don't prepare dor situations accordingly.

Great place to work

Great shifts available near you. The pay is decent and you can choose the shifts as per your availability. The team is good, you get to meet a lot of new people and new places too.

Poor management

Would never work for compass again... poor management and no flexibility in hours .enjoyed working with other colleagues .Expected to drop everything at short notice to cover other shifts

No communication from management -i have no desires to do more than expected or extra hours - because no overtime is paid. My work colleagues are great to work with

Good place to work for quick money

It was ok to work for quick money, job was easy enough. Just wish they would have washed the fleeces before handing them out to us. Also wish they would give us extra minutes on our time sheet as we would have to queue up to collect our belongings and the queues would be really long,sometimes you could spend 30 - 45 mins just waiting

Could do better

The job in itself was ok but management don't listen to concerns and make you feel undervalued.I went to the area manager many times about an issue and was brushed off each time.

Terrible company to work for

Always short staffed one pay rise 11 years don’t care about anything or anyone only profit now job prospects no training no company phone use your own phone constantly

Good team spirit. Ethos of the company is admirable.

Lots of opportunities for advancement. The 'community' side of the company is supportive and is committed to staff well-being. The company covers different areas of support for children and young people so employee experiences can be very different depending on your role.


Work from home. Control my own calendar. Recognition of hard work.


You need to have high levels of resilience and commitment when working directly with the children.

Say good by to any social life you may have had, you will never get a weekend off unless you use a holiday, you will have no idea what shifts you will be one until a week before, no support from managment and nhs staff paid much more for doing the same job makes a toxic enviroment

One of the best place to work in the Covid test centre always busy always on your feet helping people do there test would happily go back to this job if they where still up and running

It was ok

I liked it it was fast paced all training is given I was not the right fit due to certain circumstances but it was a nice place to work colleges are nice and welcoming aswell

Crash and burn

Compass do not care about anyone, you are just a number on a spreadsheet to them. They will work you until you drop dead, then just kick you aside and move on.

Lovely place to work

Really good job if you like fast pace hard work.Overtime is readily available if you wish to take it.Management and staff are all great.Time on shift flies by as can be so busy.

I love the job

The wage is poor as are holidays and no company sick pay, hence the turnover of staff and senior managers need to respect the work that the staff do as always short staffed
