Very Stressful Job

I wouldn't recommend applying for this job, will sell it as a great place to work. Which it was, however it soon turns more into a sales environment and adds a lot of pressure. Too much workload passed to Team Leaders and high management just laugh. No respect even though would fall on its face if wasn't through the invitation of recording information to help support staff and the business be a success.Had to leave and a lot happier for it!Poor High Management, Avoid.

Pros

New Friends.

Cons

Not paid for breaks, Poor High Management and pressurised.

Awful Experience

Very misleading company that has no concerns about providing a professional service. They mislead you about working part-time but forces you to increase your hours irrespective of your family commitments. They do not support their staff and care nothing about how you feel.I wouldn't rate them at all if it were possible.

Pros

There are no pros.

Cons

Very deceptive and expect blood from a stone.

Great place to work. Its never a dull day at Copart.

I've worked here for a few years and love it. There are hard days, then easy days. You get out what you put in. No one day is the same. The staff are friendly, and always happy to help. There is a great camaraderie between the drivers.

Pros

Family fun days, Camaraderie, Job satisfaction.

Cons

Sometimes long days.

Very dysfunctional

Unrealistic pressures and expectations of staff at ANY level, managers are just puppets to a very disorganised hierarchy who have no idea what the people on the ground do for them. Managers cannot make their own decisions and are disciplined for saying no and protecting their staff, if you want a stressful and toxic environment to work in .. this is for you! As for customer service, you cannot give any because there is zero empathy for circumstance. Watch out for the higher management team who cover themselves by blaming the little people.

Okay place to work

worked as a yard Op Okay place to work but be wary its one of those where your face doesn't fit you will not go far. However colleagues in the yard team are nice and sociable.

Pros

Consistent Work times

Cons

Yard Manager is a snake in the grass

Far to “Corporate” for salvage

The freedom to develop an area in the early days was great but as with many larger companies the desire to over manage hindered the ability to function successfully. There is a culture of getting rid of people who are free thinking which is very detrimental to progress. Contradicting the corporate image that is portrayed.

Not suitable for professional drivers

This is not a logistics company. They know very little about transport. The dispatcher had only just passed her car test and was dispatching lorries know absolutely zero about the lorries or routes. Don’t even think about complaining as it falls on deaf ears. The transport manager was only concerned with making himself look good and continually pushes drivers to work hard and faster and longer, even if it means drivers are getting infringements because of being pushed. Management don’t have a clue about transport but still question experienced drivers who have done the job for several years. Also the health and safety procedures are written by a bloke who doesn’t even have a class 1 license. Used to be a good place to work but unfortunately the Bureaucracy and the politics ruined it.

Pros

Cheap fuel

Cons

Everything else

Fantastic company

I have worked here for a little over 6 months and have found that my work/family life balance has improved greatly. I see much more of my children. The management are very supportive and their doors are always open. Compared to other call centres this is very fast paced whilst remaining very relaxed. I would strongly recommend this company.

Pros

family orientated, relaxed

Cons

living wage pay

Get out what you put in

This is a great and interesting job and no two days are the same. If your willing to work hard then the pay reflects this. Some days are long but other days will see you home before 3pm. Work is delivered via a pda device provided by the company and the fleet is going through a massive overhaul with new 21/70 plates coming through. Pay is a basic day rate with your cars paid on top. The more you move the more you are paid. The bonus is easy enough to earn as long as you are careful. Outside of covid there are family days out paid for by the company. Plus a share plan you can opt in to as well as online discount in high street shops.

Pros

Flexible working hours, Good pay, bonuses, family days out, pension, shares

Cons

Some long hours

worst place I have ever worked

The management and I use that word loosely are terrible if your face fits your fine... Supervisors who talk about everyone behind their backs. Management who are sexist. No regards for your health and wellbeing.Wages are rubbish for the amount of abuse you have to put up with from customers. Would rather be unemployed than work here again

Pros

Discounted fuel

Cons

two faced management

Could be a good place

This could be a amazing job of the management had a clue how to do there job properly and treated staff like people instead of dog poo. Job itself is good with no start or finish times and job and jack but the pay is unfair as class 2 get paid same as class one and your car rates are absolute garbage when you start about £4.68 a car when people there doing the same job as you for £9 odd a car which over the month is a big difference in pay, there is absolutely no man management and get treated like school kids rather than employees and there is zero moral in the work place, management spend more time trying to shaft you rather than let you get on with your job, hence the really high turn over of drivers and staff

Pros

25 litres of fuel for £4 and good family fun days

Cons

Management and pay parity

Indecisive and excluding

People were friendly , direct management however indecisive and unable to manage people in the correct manner and with authority Reverting to slanging matches with office manager

Cons

No managerial support

Very stressful place to be

Massive staff turnover. Too many changes in management. Very stressful place. Treated like a number and with no respect even after 6 years. No proper training when you start there. Salary is very poor especially with the amount of work you do.

Pros

Free coffee

Cons

Poor salary

Great place to work, fast paced

Great place to work, management are firm but fair and honest. You work hard but it’s well worth the effort when you see your results. When the weather is bad it can be hard but I love it!

Pros

Management, flexible, pay

Cons

Weather

Dismal

No support from management. They promise drivers that they would be finished daily by 4pm, yet this in reality is never going to happen. You will be working long long hours. You will be abandoned by management and dispatch. New drivers usually leave within 5 months. On average 3-4 drivers either leave each month or are sacked. Best stay away.

Pros

Subsidised fuel allowance

Cons

Management

Good money poor management

Face fits company. Sly allocation of work and everyone paid different amounts for the same job. Money is decent but job is dirty hard and can be dangerous. Always looking to pull you up for anything and everything that goes wrong is your fault. To much pushing for collections and amount of work allocated rarely allows for proper breaks.

Pros

Cheap fuel

Cons

Everybody treated differently for same job

Picture your worst ever job, times that awful feeling by 1000 and you'll have a vague idea what its like to work for Copart.

Put Simply, if you expect to be treated fairly as a driver you can forget working for Copart. All the best runs are given to the same drivers, leaving you as a new driver the worst runs imaginable. You will work around 15-20 hours per week for free as Copart do not pay overtime, at all. This is around 25 hours more than the favoured drivers, who will take home around double the money you do, because they are favoured by the despatch team. Whilst we are talking about the despatch team let me tell you, that could not organise a children's party in McDonalds with free burgers and a clown yet still manage to have a bad attitude! In fact the combined IQ of the entire despatch team would fail to reach the dizzy heights of a dead hamster who suffered brain trauma at birth. In short, if you are a driver with any self respect, do not even consider Copart under any circumstances whatsoever, ever........

Pros

Rod the yard bloke is a nice fella the rest are oxygen thieves.

Cons

Everything.
