fun night shifts
Expected to work on at least 3 - 4 machines at a time which can be hard if you struggle to keep up with any of the machines. I learnt that i had to get used to working 3 different shifts rotated weekly. Management was helpful at times but other times useless Hardest part of the job was getting the supervisor to fix any machines that had plastic stuck in them and only getting one 10 minute break and a half an hour dinner. The most enjoyable part was being able to get on with other work mates and have a little fun on the night shift as long as we got the work done.

Very few Pro's!
Was there for good few years so got to know the job(s) very well. Most days were physically demanding for the lack of motivation of others and 99% of the work in there was very monotonous which would lead to some grueling shifts. At the start of my employment, chargehands and/or supervisors attitudes varied wildly, depending which way the wind was blowing. There was a small minority of managers and chargehands who were absolutely brilliant, shame I can't mention them by name. Staff turnover was horrendous, people would start and leave in the same day, depending on the meagre training you received and if your face fit in the shift you were given. Operational staff were always helpful when some supervisors and chargehands weren't. Health and Safety was very often not followed and any mention of improvement was sometimes met with replies of "Ahhh it's fine!", shrugged shoulders or blank stares, that is until H.S.E. were expected turn up for an inspection then it was all hands on deck for the 'coverup'. This was a few years ago and by all accounts some issues are being or have been ironed out. As with any job the cons always outway the pro's, but Coral seemed to sometimes go above and beyond to excel well above the average. This is in my opinion a stop-gap job for when your in between gainful employment or maybe a basic introduction to the workplace until you can find something else. It will pay the bills at the end of the week.
