Shocking company - stay well clear!!!!
Security Officer (Former Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 26 May 2021
Management in Glasgow have no idea what they are doing. Treat staff appallingly. Pay department also no idea what they are doing. Constantly underpaid. HR also no idea what they are doing. They ignore all emails and don't answer calls when you are looking for advice, yet they expect a quick reply when they are asking. Whole company is a sham!
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Everything mentioned above!

Better than most ive worked for
Area supervisor (Current Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 6 November 2019
This is my second employment with cordant and since my first term of employment with them I've seen a vast improvement with the way the staff are dealt with. I am now in my 10th yr and throughly enjoy working with the company. Ive seen the implementation of many systems for the safeguard of security and store staff. Like any firm the hrs can be a bit erratic but it is a security firm and that's to be expected .

Long hours
Security Officer/Receptionist (Current Employee) - Glasgow - 27 September 2019
Working as Mobile Relief officer I cover a number of sites across Scotland. This means that I can be working at busy or quiet sites depending where I'm sent.
Pros

One of the worst security companies out there
Corporate Security Officer (Former Employee) - Glasgow - 9 July 2018
This bunch of muppets will turn a blind eye to bullying (guards, supervisors, managers and clients), guards sexually harassing staff (one guard actually followed a female member of staff in to the toilet and kept his job), guards verbally abusing supervisors etc. but refuse to complete a survey and they remove you from site instantly and refuse to offer you any work.... then sack you for being AWOL

shocking company
Security Officer (Former Employee) - Glasgow, - 3 May 2018
i workrd for this company 7 years and to be fair the first 5 or 6 years were fine. then it was called advance but when then changed to cordant it went downhill rapidly. the manager i got was totally inept and out of his depth clueless and surrounded himself with his favourite guards and gave them the msjority of hours available. you get left with one shift a week sometimes 2 if your lucky. you get rung up just a hour before a shift starts asking you to do it or sent miles away to do a shift with no travel costs. when you try to contact your msnager he is never available as he ignors your texts or calls. you will find the managers bend over backwards for the client ie tesco and agree with them and never support you.
if you do go work for them you hsve been warned so on your own head but my advice is to stay away from them as they will hang you out to dry
Pros
wages on time
Cons
poor management and not enough hours to kive on

Not enough regular shifts
Security Officer (Former Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 5 March 2018
When I started it seemed that the shifts were readily available. This soon dried up after a week or two and there seemed to be no effort made by the team to find me regular shifts. This job is not suitable for anyone who has a family to support and bills to pay as the income poor and you can go weeks without having a shift.

Poor Management
Security Officer (Former Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 7 December 2017
Useless company.
Was told I would be working in my local area, shifts for that were few & far between.
Spent most of my time outside my local area.
Get no money for fuel even when 1 store I worked in was nearly 2 hours drive each way.
Was doing Mobile Relief but never got a fuel card, so lost a lot of money each month in fuel.
Get called up on your day off to work extra shifts.
More than once had a shift finish at 22:30 at one site & they wanted me to be back on duty at another site for 06:00 the next day.
Slightest problem & the managers start an investigation & don't listen when you raise issues with them.
When you need to speak to a manager they're always unavailable.

None
Cons

Worst company around and terrible management.
Security Officer (Current Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 30 December 2016
I unfortunately chose to tupe from another firm over to cordant and its been the worst company and group of people I have ever worked with. Management are sometimes impossible to contact when really needed and control room staff are utter cu**s. Pay is rubbish and you have little to zero social life.

Nil
Cons

Don't
Security Officer (Current Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 5 December 2016
I changed over from another security company when cordant took the contract for the store I work in in October. still to experience good handling of any time I request help from management. Rarely hear from management unless they need something and when you need something done they suddenly disappear.
Pros
Left alone
Cons
Same shifts week in week out
