Working with cordant is averagely good.
Security Officer (Former Employee) - Central london - 16 June 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWhat is the best part of working at the company? Prompt payment of salary which is encouraging. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Sometimes you struggle for shifts. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The environment is not that bad. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Nothing special. Just like every other organisation

Struggle to get holidays, low pay, work weekends
security officer in Kendal (Former Employee) - Kendal - 18 February 2021
Worked for Cordant for 3 years altogether. They pay you on the 8th of every month . If it’s wrong you have to wait another month . You must get your pay checked out as it never seems to be right . Managers don’t see you often maybe once a month . You won’t have any chance at going higher in the company from what I have seen . Make sure you hand in your uniform even after years they will charge you 150 pounds no matter how long you had the uniform it belongs to the company not you . I can’t honestly recommend this company if you are married as you work every weekend it caused a strain on my relationship due to never seeing each other I was on a different shift to my family . For a single person this is a perfect job . This company is just like many others you are a number that’s all . Don’t complain about managers because their bosses are just as bad if not worse . Infact most of the way managers are is the way they are told and allowed to be . It comes from top down from what I have seen . They advertised the hrs I didn’t work for a higher rate of pay I only found out on about indeed I complained and they told me to accept it .
Pros
Paid break
Cons
No job progression hard to get a holiday

Mixed Signals.
Retail Security Officer (Zero Hour Contract) (Current Employee) - Sheffield - 21 December 2020
Overall not a bad company to work for. Management is a bit of a joke. I once waited over a month for my manager to reply to my message. He doesn’t reply properly now. My shifts get taken off me for no reason, without anyone telling you this. You have to wait 20 minutes plus to get through to the call centre for anything including reporting an incident or sick line. If the control centre ring you and you don’t answer (even if you are at work) they put it down as no contact. You are moved from store to store, so you don’t know who’s barred and who the local shoplifters are. The company is crying out for staff but won’t give you much work.
Pros
Work during Covid-19
Cons
No contact, Bad Management.

Terrible
Security Guard (Former Employee) - Great Yarmouth - 6 December 2020
Terrible company with very little pay control are useless can never get hold of them. Depending on where they put you depends on what work life is like got moved from a store I was happy with and store was happy to have me to one that was terrible without explanation also got hours cut again without explanation. They like you to put them before yourself and family it’s there way or no way
Pros
Good work place depending on place of work
Cons
Low pay bad management

A job is a job. That's all it is.
Security Officer (Current Employee) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire - 24 November 2020
A job is a job, pays the bills I suppose but not much else. Change shifts at a drop of a hat. Not there fault or problem. Manager never available when needed.

Bad company
Security Guard (Current Employee) - Lincoln - 21 November 2020
Worst company to work for you ask for holidays then they put them in and don’t pay you for them also give you shifts and make out your permanent and if you ask for a transfer to another store they offer shifts but then take all shifts of you and you have to wait to hear about any work and doesn’t help when managers are on holiday and you try phone them without knowing there on holiday they should tell you so you know who to contact I would skip this company if I was anyone else

No progression,minimal wages
Door Supervisor (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 3 November 2020
Don't recommend unless dying for a job, poor management, no direct answers,no where to easily report incidents,no where to add expenses, fired right before furlough scheme started so I don't get enough help during another lockdown. When emailing manager about a question he started talking about How he has a life outside the job when i just wanted an answer when he's available, wasn't telling him to reply at 10pm,absolute low life
Pros
Nothing

SECURITY OFFICER (Current Employee) - London North, Greater London - 28 October 2020
Interview was earlier than I thought it would be although I had to chase line manager up for work but when I got the hour everything seemed ok.this was up in liverpool but when I came down to work through a job transfer I found the area manager's in London to been very unprofessional and disappointing as they never seem to care about there client's need, shift are simply pass around there friends and the don't seem to care about there harder working staff members, which is a shame very very slake company to work for...hourly pay is also poor for London.
Pros
None
Cons
Area managers don't care

Bad company to work for.
SECURITY OFFICER (Former Employee) - North London, Greater London - 28 October 2020
I found the interview session easier than I thought it would be,although I did have to chase up my line manager in order to start work, but once I was I there was plenty of shift work for me up in liverpool,it was only when I got a transfer down to London that Cordant security became very unprofessional only allocating shifts to friends and not looking after staff members that were doing a good job,was other staff were slacking and break date protection Law and god nose what else. Area manager weren't concerned with there client's needs and request seem to have to many security guards and clearly not enough work..all in all a bad company to work for.
Pros
You got uniform provided.
Cons
Area manager are unprofessional.

No back up avoid like the plague
Security Officer (Former Employee) - Sunderland, Tyne and Wear - 26 October 2020
5 years worked on same site 4 times assaulted one serious. Management found me at fault every time even after goods recovered. "Step Back" is the protocol even if the offender keeps coming at you, don't defend yourself or you are in trouble. But still get into trouble if injured! The Manager tells you what you want to hear and does nothing about it. Never turned up during my shift unless it was to "Do Training" Holidays always rejected due to "No Cover" Expected to stand for 8 hours even after injury while at work.
Pros
A Job
Cons
To many to mention

Surprisingly not bad
Security Officer (Former Employee) - Northamptonshire - 4 October 2020
I started a new job with cordant in Nov 2018 and have to say they not really that bad if needed time off then 90% of time would get it as long as it gave them time but understood if a emergency. Get calls if want more work but dont force you to take them and dont pester you. Had rather a decent rate of pay. And managers are decent as long as you do your job ....if you want to fall asleep dont go to this company or any put your bage in the bin.

Stay well clear
Security Officer (Former Employee) - Liverpool - 28 September 2020
It’s a big company with false promises they do not care about you they only care about the money they are getting for you working at there sites they also want you to act like a close protection officer for £9 per hour. offered me a 40 hour contract with promises of overtime they don’t tell you that they can’t even give you 40 hours never mind overtime gave me 21 hours a week then a supervisor insisted I “cement my place” then hours will come so I listened an cemented my place in another job instead. I advise every security officer to avoid this company and try to get in a company that actually has clue what there doing
Pros
The jackets are ok
Cons
Everything

Prepare to be living of the job center after being Hired
Just another Number (Current Employee) - Doncaster - 18 September 2020
Contract says you are giving a minimum number of hours, they paint it really hard that you will get those hours, its 0 hour and the only company begging for workers yet they don't even have positions for the already hired, and will except petty reasons to remove you from a location like looking bored while stood in one place for 8 hours and they will try and get you to double shift and ring right near the end of your shift with no extra benefits just the usual wage, no additional pay for Bank holidays or Xmas and forced to work either Xmas eve or Boxing day even if you did the nights prior You are a filler number, all fluffed and lies, Line managers are a joke, had staff from the location i work at say the company is a disaster as they fail to cover shifts and leave the shop empty and guess who gets the brunt of it when something goes wrong, YOU Line manager showed up after 3 months on the site for training, handed me a book that was basically a teaching prompt and told me to lean from it had a better chance learning to code from a Lego manual then understanding that thing, believe in petty lies from store managers if one takes a disliking to you (Looking bored earned me a 'performance review') and was later removed from the position all together with no reasons ever given from a manager that was there a total of 2 hours a week and met me once
