Reliable friendly agency
Agency Worker (Current Employee) - St Austell, Cornwall - 1 June 2022
Finding myself in-between jobs I reached out to the agency to get some work quickly to prevent being without pay for too long and they've been brilliant! Found me work quickly, they're super efficient with pay, always on time and great communication with payslips etc. When I had to miss a day of work due to a hospital appointment for my son they were very understanding. Overall a brilliant agency to work with.

Not the most understanding company.
Cleaner (Former Employee) - Truro, Cornwall - 10 November 2021
I had a few problems going on in my personal life that stopped me from going to some of my shifts. The company wasn't as understanding as they should be and have stopped offering me work on that basis. There's no respect for the personal problems that some of their staff may encounter.
Pros
good weekend wage.
Cons
flexible around my University studies

Very Professional
Night Porter (Former Employee) - St. Austell, Cornwall - 20 November 2020
I only worked for the Agency for a few months but found the management very professional. As I was 67 I did have some limitations with regard to heavy lifting or standing for extended periods. The Management at the Agency was aware of this and very understanding when allocating shifts.
Pros
Good Management

care assistant
Care Assistant (Former Employee) - St. Austell, Cornwall - 16 March 2020
I found csa a poor company to work for they promise shifts but never come through yet are taking on numerous staff. rates of pay are poor, they are rude to staff who cannot complete a shift or take on extra work when they are ment to be a flexible agency that works around you. And to make matters worse when asked for further training there was no acknowledgment. They also refused me work when I was 3 months pregnant as I needed further safety measures. 100% would never work for them again nor would I recommend even bothering to look at what they have to offer, which by chance is not a great deal.

Considerate staff. Interesting working in different places meeting new people. A decent consistent flow of work. I learnt some new skills, had training in barista. Worked in some interesting places, like Newquay Airport and Trelisk Hospital.

Corrupt
Temporary Worker (Former Employee) - St. Austell, Cornwall - 21 October 2019
Corrupt CSA staff lying all the time to avoid making payments where THEY feel is not due (in other words, they just don't want to pay you). You work, on holiday or off ill, they will not pay you if THEY decide not to. Treat you as if you're worthless and use you as slaves. Look down on you and always talk about you behind your back!

No review necessary, overall role was fine and no problems during my time working there.
No progression and only a seasonal and temp position.

Jobs at Cornwall Staff Agency
I'm quite happy with them!
Care assistant, support worker and RGN (Current Employee) - Cornwall - 13 August 2019
I have been given the opportunity to choose where I work, and at what position as I have 3 job titles. There is usually lots of work available. They are always polite and understanding, always pro-active. Very helpful when I have forgotten to submit my timesheet on time, always sending a gentle reminder! (well it happens Nometimes!) I really can highly recommend them to work for.
Pros
Always helpful
Cons
Can't think of any

Good place to work, kept me busy
Operative (Former Employee) - St. Austell - 3 October 2018
A typical day would be turning up to a prearranged destination and time for work including agreed days and times. This could be anything including warehouse work, apacking and despatching, production work, packing, labelling, cutting, bottling and many more job roles in the production environment.Or it could be housekeeping, portering, or valet service in a hotel or caravan park. Serving behind a bar in a pub or social club or working as a kitchen assistant preparing food or just good old KP working washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen.
Pros
Flexible work
Cons
Zero hours

let down a lot
Temp work (Former Employee) - Cornwall - 20 July 2018
Their reputation is not great the organisation skills were poor along with the manager who was unapproachable. Let down many times. The only bonus is weekly pay.
Pros
Flexible
Cons
Unorganised

Massively beneficial experience with CSA
Health Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Cornwall - 20 April 2018
I joined CSA essentially at entry level health care and left with a level 3 in health and social care having taken a senior role elsewhere which they were fully supportive of. Massive experience gained for the time I was there, that and the training was invaluable.
Agency work can be difficult but I found that if you made yourself available and are proactive in fulfilling the hours you require it can work for you.
Being a smaller company CSA are more personable and care about your wellbeing and progress and I'd highly recommend them.
Pros
Flexibility
Cons
Irregular

Fun Work but Bad Staff
Anything (Current Employee) - St. Austell - 1 September 2017
It took them nearly 2 months to hear back from them to tell me there is a temp job available for you to do. Once doing the job it was alright and straight forward, but within a 3 weeks there was date confusing when i had a important appointment but got it changed early afternoon. They did not confirm if i was working or not working on the next day. Turned up to work and found out i'm not needed, so i wasted my time and petrol for traveling to a temp job in newquay. They dont even let you know if there is problems or concerns, they keep it to themselves.
Pros
Good Pay
Cons
Bad Staff, Not always supplying New jobs

Polite and work available straight away
Cleaner (Current Employee) - Newquay, Cornwall - 5 July 2017
They direct you to the workplace, give you supplies and training on how to clean certain things. The workplace culture is strict but polite sometimes timing pressure on cleaning. The hardest part of the job is making the beds! and the most enjoyable part is the break and working together so you get things done faster.
Pros
Mostly laid back
Cons
Making Beds and being timed.

Its alright, but it is a staffing agency
Call Agent (Former Employee) - St Austell, Cornwall, UK - 11 April 2017
They lost two forms of my I.D. Upon their request, and hours and shifts came as and when they required, be nice if there was some type of consistency, but they are an agency. For instance just working in one area of employment. The reason for this is because one day you'd be a cleaner, next you'd be working in a call centre. There is no place for advancement, unless the company who has hired the agency staff member is looking for someone to take on full-time. If you are pregnant, you must leave at the end of your second trimester. Pay is pretty good, but it can vary on the role, as to when you are paid.
Pros
pay is good
Cons
Pay isn't worth hassle, and nobody seems to talk to anybody.

They source jobs from far and wide.I imagine you could do wLlandudno long term temping.networking and progressing.
My only regret is the need for a car or motorbike as work is spread in a 25 mile radius.
Good all round bunch.
Girls too attractive as to cause a distraction but I guess they can not change that.

Learnt to deal with lots of different people. Working long hours sometimes but the rewards and job satisfaction well worth it. Friendly small team. The hardest part of the job was working to tight deadlines and the most enjoyable seeing the company grow.
