We are dedicated to making improvements wherever we can, and are never satisfied with the status quo. We ensure that everything we do is continually reviewed. We get regular feedback from residents, their families and visitors, on the occasions we find shortcomings we are quick to put them right and review what happened.

By putting quality first in everything we do for each person we support and for all our staff, we endeavour to be the service provider and employer of choice in the communities we serve.

Despondent, Disheartened
Started work @ Cornwallis care as assistant cook, part time, staff all very welcoming and friendly, worked with a few lovely people over the years, as with nearly all work places it can have a malicious/snide atmosphere at times, but I expected that in a large work environment, if you have a thick skin and a don’t care attitude about such childish behaviour, then you’re fine. After a couple of yea...

Fast paced
Helping the residents to get ready for the day. There were lazy members of staff that would leave jobs to others. There was an underlying culture of bullying but those responsible were never told they let it go

Hard going and underpaid
Staff are not rewarded enough for the hard work they put in to care for the people that they do. Working long hours, poor equipment and poor salary to show. The teams of girls are amazing and help support each other get through the hard times but support from management or even some nurses is not heard of.

Currently working weekends as a housekeeper. As a housekeeper work may be slow-paced and relaxed (which is most of the time) or fast-pace and can be stressful. Simple bedrooms to clean and chatting with residents makes it a nice friendly environment to work in. Overall a lovely place to work which can be stressful but very rewarding and all of the staff make it a comfortable and decent environment...
