Long hours but good oportunity

Indeed featured review

As a relief security officer you do get to choose when to work soo how much you make in a month really depends on how much you work obviously. Most sites are fine really and the work isnt too demanding

I was very pleased with the support and reliability I received from corps security, they always provided uniform as of when needed, holidays fair, always pay on time and if any discrepancies in pay the management would respond and rectify as quickly as possible.

Pros

Run as far as you can from this company

The management are the worst I've had to work with and if they are under CBRE that is double trouble, management of both companies are really bad and arrogant, they don't listen to what you have to say because you as a Security Officer are just a number they can get others to work.DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY AND IF CBRE ARE INVOLVED RUN.

Employee focussed company

I’ve been with CORPS for 2 years now as a managerial SME and, since the beginning, was blown away with the levels of support received from the company. They’re always striving to develop their employees and source new innovation to improve efficiencies and always place their employees first.

unsure of what is job title

Started at housing complex not as a security officer . Its more of janitor concierge. Cctv non existence. No mobile coverage. If something happen or an incident you can't fone out. received a fone call on a sun nyt at 2115 I find this unacceptable. I was in my kip according to management ther entitled to fone you at all hours to remind you of your shift then they had the cheek to send an email of the same thing at 2215. Not acceptable. stay well away from them the hours was not suitable as well as the no breaks given as your on your own and can't leave I turn down another job to work here . Luckily I had another job to go to. If you do have 1 don't tell them

Pros

low pay bad management fone all sorts of hours including a Sunday nyt after 10 pm

Cons

no mobile coverage health and safety broken.low oay

Gone down hill rapidly. Send problem guards to your site

Gone down hill rapidly. Send problem guards to your site. They send problem guards to your site and it's out of site out of mind. Rare welfare visits, problems from problem guard. Tell management you're not happy, their answer not my problem.

PROFESSIONALISM is at the core for Corps

Corps delivers on their promises to the workers. Corps constantly checks on the welfare and wellbeing of the workers and doesn't delay your pay nor your holiday approval. It's a company that does everything they can to give their best to the Customers. I have had great experience in these past two years I have been working for Corps.

Pros

Constant Welfare Visit

Cons

My Shift pattern

Bad company

its the worst security company in the industry. Never trust the management. Management treat their staff so bad and the management seemed to play favourites with workers.I will never recommend corps security to anyone.

Bad Management

Parts of the management team is run by people whom have never worked in security and the other part have no clue how to speak to people. There is no backing from the CM's.Your words will fall upon deaf ears and not a single word they utter is truthful. There have been numerous duty managers in the past years for a reason (All resigned). Upper management turns a blind eye to what happens below them because the middle management back each other up.Working as DM in the Birmingham region is strongly discouraged. The funny thing is they have all these elearning courses to perpetuate excellence. How about educating the middle management on how to manage.

Avoid at all costs

Joined this company via tupe, at the start of this year i lasted 6 weeks before resigning and all I can say is its the worst security company I have worked for in my 10 years in the industry, very questionable contract managers, favourites on site ,disparity amongst guards.complaints get made but nothing gets done. Your constantly rang to cover shifts on your days off but don't like to take no as an answer, always asked to cover every Friday dayshift.i would honestly say from My own perspective this certainly is the worst company I have worked for and most certainly would not recommend it to anyone ,if your looking for a job ,honestly keep looking !!!! Can sleep at weekends tho

Pros

Sleep on weekends

Cons

Bad man management, disparity, always rang on days off

joined corps via tupe,

No pay rise for 9 years, company couldn't care less , more interested in keeping contract than asking for more money to enable decent pay. same as many security companies in that your just a body on a seat they get paid to provide,

Pros

i havent killed myself yet

Cons

too many to list

Only as good as the site you're on

Don't take a job as relief as they will constantly mess you up and phone you 24/7 and expect you to work at short notice for no incentives. Some sites are great. Some not so great. Local managers and area managers are great but scheduling manager and ops manager are horrible to deal with!

Pros

Not many at all, some sites are really good but depends on the site.

Cons

Expect you to work short notice. Not allowed a life. No Christmas off. No support.

Poor experience, "Duty Managers" were a joke

Do not go near, one of the worst security companies I have worked for in over 20 years. Company sick pay is non existent although it's used as a selling point to join the company, Managers given shifts instead of the guards and if you questioned it you got nothing

Pros

None

Cons

Too long to list

Good company

Good company looking to progress for the good of staff, fight for better rates of pay and good training programs and communication from the company. Company have made systems easy to use and everything you can do yourself such as order uniform.

Its not brilliant

I have been working in Security for 30 years on and off. In my time in this industry, never have I seen a company fail to recruit because of a poor site rates. This alone should tell the managers, up the site rate - get more staff.Support from managers or for a better description lack of, trying to get hold of them is challenging enough yet alone getting them to act on things. That said I now have a manager who seems keen (fingers crossed).Staff shortages are covered by a 3rd party company for relief officers and all vacant shifts are outsourced.Never seem to get site visits anymore from managers or mobile supervisors. You have to watch what your being paid like a hawk, payroll could use an abacus or a calculator. Only saving grace is no shirt or tie.

Pros

No tie

Cons

Very long hrs, poor pay, questionable management, no staff for cover.

Great for the older person.

Great for the older person or a stopgap for a younger one. Getting into management is something to consider but as soon as possible after joining. If you work lots of hours you will get lots of pay. Be prepared to travel to make the most of the available hours. Parts of the job can be good if you want an easy life, or others as busy as you want.k

Pros

Free uniform

Cons

Long hours

The worst employer on the planet

Every company has a downside, its natural. Nothing is perfect. At Corps Security it appears they have they want to have every downside possible, terrible management, poor recruitment, short pay, refusing to pay, no staff support, no uniform, poor organisation, the list goes on and on.My experiences cover all of the above and more the best decision I made was leaving that company.Do not go here unless they make a massive overhaul of their head office management teams.
