No training and no support

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
No support, thrown into the role promised training and had deductions from my salary that promised to provide a qualification but they then decided it wasn’t necessary and said they weren’t going to refund staff for the deduction, even though no training was provided and no qualification was offered. Scam really and very poor work life balance. Management are rubbish and don’t seem to have a grip on anything they just want you to read from a script 6 days away and don’t you dare deviate because they will pull you into a meeting and play your call back to you! Bit archaic and old fashioned, other estate agents offer better commissions and better work life balance.

Archaic management

Great company

Upper management really recognise the hard work that the branches put in and you are rewarded not only with commission structure, but also with a clear progression path.

Great career opportunities

Despite other reviews, over the last 6.5 years I have found the management very supportive and the company offers an excellent level of training and progressional opportunities. The hours are standard (37.5) and commission is uncapped, which is excellent!

Good commission, free use of services such as financial advise, reduction in solicitor fees etc. social events with the team

Lower basic salary offered than competitors but higher earning potential with commission

Tread carefully if you thinking of joining Countrywide

Terribly disappointing and extremely stressful environment to work in. Limited resources coupled with bully style and micro-management making it an aweful place to work.

Hard work and underpaid

This is a good starter job for a few months but is not possible to maintain, you are paid a shockingly low salary to work 40/50 hours a week sometimes and never praised on success, only challanged on errors.

Productive and fun place to work

A typical day's work included sourcing landlord and tenants, completing viewings and processing the paperwork for new tenancies. I learned techniques in selling, administration and diary management. The hardest part of the job was the volume of paper work per tenancy in a successful month. The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting new people and hearing about their jobs and interests, as well as learning all the different routes around Bristol and seeing spectacular properties.
