favouritism
Support Worker (Current Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 19 November 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI have worked at creative Support for over a year and there are very few things I like about this job. Co Workers for the most part are great and it’s a rewarding job sadly those aren’t enough to make me want to stay. there’s a lot of favouritism in this job and I feel like some people are punished more than others for their mistakes. Favouritism really shows on the Christmas Rota. The people who suck up to the manager are usually the people who get christmas off. Creative Support love to make your job harder than it needs to be. They really need to scrap paper timesheets. When I started I was often shadowing staff that were either new to supporting that person or was only recently employed themselves. You’re constantly hounded with new training modules on the computer. I feel under appreciated by Creative Support the lack of job benefits. You get the feeling like you’re only a cog in a machine. I would not recommend creative support for the job you’re doing it’s not worth the pay which is funny because you’d expect a company that Celebrates pride and other similar events which there’s nothing wrong with. you’d expect them to pay their employees well. I’m still working here but looking for a new job.
Pros
Free lunches, decent coworkers
Cons
favouritism, poor pay, lack of appreciation

Great Place to work
Support Worker (Current Employee) - Redcar, North Yorkshire - 7 November 2023
I have worked at creative support for 4 yrs. I work in a floating support role which means every day is different, from taking service users shopping, on leisure activities, supporting them with shopping and household tasks, amongst other thing, the job provides variety and is very rewarding. I have gained new qualifications that have helped me grow and be more confident within my role. I have recently been through a difficult time personally and management were fantastic and supportive.

Care Support Worker (Current Employee) - St. Helens - 18 September 2023
Support work is hard for anyone. Working with various types of people is often the best part of the job but can also be the most draining. Creative are supportive. They help you get the most out of the job

Really bad Company to work for.
Support worker (Former Employee) - Wednesbury - 12 September 2023
Management treat support workers like dirt. I had no support or help since I started. Management abuse their power and talk down to us support workers. If management don't like you you get all the late shifts and weekends and staff who sick up get the nice shifts., earliest and, weekends off. I have had to check my wages every week because they are always wrong
Pros
Nice service users
Cons
Bad management

Support Worker/Carer (Former Employee) - Dudley, West Midlands - 8 September 2023
Work ethics is crucial for creative support. You have to take this job seriously and always go above and beyond your job description. It's amazing for service users but feels hard for staff to be so extra at all the time. There are not two days the same in this job. However there is very little possibility to progress. No offers of additional trainings or courses.
Pros
Paid online trainings, bonuses.
Cons
Hard to maintain work life balance

Have worked for better companies but also far worse.
Support Worker (Former Employee) - Bolton - 16 August 2023
I enjoyed my time with creative support but it became clear to me towards the end that the ship was sinking. I worked for autism services and could be very challenging. They offer some very good training and provided me with 2 paid hours per week to complete my NVQ3. When I started each house had a manager and a senior, when I left they had 1 manager over 3 services and no senior staff which is dangerous. Became increasingly reliant on agency staff so no consistency for service users. Sad to see a company in decline.
Pros
Good rates for sleep overs and good training
Cons
Long hours. Over reliance on agency staff.

Poor management
Support Worker (Former Employee) - Wolverhampton, West Midlands - 5 August 2023
Lack of support from management when needed. Poor communication from management to support staff. Easily judged in a negative way. Management always seem to let go of staff easily for minor situations which have no real safeguarding matter.
Cons
Poor management

Poor stadards
Support Worker (Current Employee) - Middlesbrough - 8 July 2023
The organisation has poor standards, and money-obsessed! They want to control your life and offer no support to staff. They bully shifts on to staff and management only pick over time when is a shift they like!

Horrible place to work!
Support worker (Former Employee) - Hill top cottages - 6 July 2023
One of the most unprofessional places to work, don't appreciate your efforts and dedication for the role. Rude and unfair management Allow vaping inside Disrespectful towards service users I was placed on a 12 week trial and after I completed all my mandatory training and care certificate well before deadline, I was dismissed unfairly.
Pros
Nothing
