A steady paved job
Picker/Packer/Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Ilkeston - 4 June 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWhen headsets work and cages roll everything is fine. But when the good cages have all been used and the headsets fail to understand what you're saying over and over, it gets stressful fast. Depending on who is in, management can be of no use and nothing is done about health and safety violations with people even being penalised and threatened with being fired for having (not causing) accidents.
Pros
Above min wage
Cons
H&s, Management, Equipment, Mandatory overtime

Toxic - Another Knock of a Good Workers Confidence
Customer Service Executive (Former Employee) - Ilkeston - 21 August 2023
Not interested in people who can see that things could work better and have suggestions. Very school girl like environment where if your face doesn't fit, no matter how good you are at your job, they will make sure you're gone. Pull the rug out from under you so easily after promising to work with you. Also offer you so many holiday days with no option to use then due to staffing levels.
Pros
The overall company seemed interested in how customer service/telesales were doing, unlike most similar companies.
Cons
Toxic work environment

Admin (Former Employee) - Ilkeston, Derbyshire - 25 July 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? How close it was to where I lived What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The lack of training and how if they don't like you they make it well know. I especially hated how unprofessional they were. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Very school girl, mean girls like. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Stressful. Always felt judged and pressurised, like my best wasn't enough.

Toxic
Customer Service (Former Employee) - Ilkeston - 4 September 2022
Horrible company to work for unless your 'face fits ' There is a toxic culture in the office , a clique that unless you are part of it they do not want to know , don't care about you're ideas , don't care about you and how dare you have a personality !! Only they are allowed personalities , they choose their favourites who get away with everything . Steer clear from this company . If you're face does not fit they WILL make sure they get rid of you and will collude with each other on how to do this . hence the high turnover of staff

Bad management
HGV class 2 (Current Employee) - Ilkeston, Derbyshire - 9 August 2022
Been at creed for quite a few years and worked in a few departments, but on the whole management couldn’t care less, only want to hear good feedback and not prepared to do anything when you complain about things, on the whole the more people you talk to the more you find want to leave, me included, this used to be a place I could see me retiring at but not now, very sole destroying

Jobs at Creed Foodservice
Mgt have their favourites
Sales Manager (Former Employee) - Cheltenham - 25 January 2022
Hard work to get good ideas taken on board. Managers focus on a few and largely ignore others. No real progression unless they like you. Some Mangers can’t manage and do bat way above their station. Some good people though

Really disappointed
HGV Class 2 Driver (Former Employee) - Wooburn Green, Buckinghamshire - 14 December 2021
After a really good interview and a few weeks in the cab with other drivers it seemed really promising that was until I got my own route, the locations you're expected to deliver to are sometimes down single track roads that make driving an 18 tonne lorry incredibly stressful. The lorries are poorly looked after and management try to get you to fix the truck when it breaks down! the routing is awful and you're always loaded with more cages than when you asked. Really put me off working as food carrier.
Pros
discounts on fresh food
Cons
poorly maintained trucks, awful routing, long hours

Respect and appreciation
Manager (Current Employee) - Staverton, Gloucestershire - 3 November 2021
Having worked at Creed for nearly 11 years it’s safe to say We’ve never experienced a time like this with constant struggles and a worldwide pandemic but what has been consistent is the support and respect from the entire company. Creed set their standards high and live their values promoting within offering training and compassion from the shop floor right up to the CEO. My manager has helped me go from strength to strength having open and transparent conversation that helps build a culture of trust and integrity. Would I recommend Creed Foodservice absolutely because they believe in their values,Customers and Staff because People always come first.
Pros
Fantastic staff benefits/Not micro managed/People culture

Excellent place to work
Manager (Current Employee) - Staverton, Gloucestershire - 28 October 2021
The work at Creed is extremely varied, you have opportunities to get involved in different projects and people of all levels are involved in crucial decision making through working groups (e.g Sustainability, SharePoint, Creed Exceed, Insights workshops). Other managers, HR and directors are really supportive and helpful, they are always willing to make time to talk to you about anything and want to know about your ideas on how to improve the business. Listening, coaching and mentoring are key approaches of senior management who believe that the people employed to do the job are the best people to make decisions about how to improve the work and the environment. Really proactive positive approach, focus on investing in the future and a continuous improvement culture where you are empowered to make decisions, improvements and to shape the next step for your career.
Pros
People listen, are willing to help and are supportive, great benefits
Cons
Statutory pension, family leave and sick pay only

Stressful and demanding
HGV Class 2 Driver (Current Employee) - High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire - 18 October 2021
You will get given 9 hours to do 10 drops that is 2 hours away from base, impossible. Loading is extremely poor and most cages have no breaks or doors delivering to a sloped drive meaning the cages will run away and if you try to catch them your will injure yourself, no help and support but when your finished early you will be expected to go and help others which then leaves you finishing later then your finish time. Not much support from management but maybe the job is just not for me.
Pros
Occasionaly free food
Cons
Very long hours with no support

Poor pay for busting a ******* everyday
Class 2 Driver (Current Employee) - Ilkeston, Derbyshire - 11 October 2021
Never any thanks poor routing and management skills get what you want if your face fits other than that prepare for a long day no help and very old cages or overloaded pallets and then lots of damages also most trucks are reliable but others need scrapping but still get used
Pros
Free food close to sell by date
Cons
Long hours poor pay

Challenging but fun
Telesales Executive (Current Employee) - Ilkeston, Derbyshire - 8 June 2021
Working in a small but very busy office it can be very challenging, but no trouble for hard workers. The team are close and bring fun into your working day. There are plenty of opportunities for internal progression for people who earn it and show an eagerness to push themselves. Having worked for various large corporations its refreshing to work for a family company that cares for its employees and this shows in the recently awarded Sunday Times Best Companies to work for 2020.
Pros
Development Chefs provide hands on lunch demos, freebies from suppliers on promotions, cycle to work, Employee reward gateway, best companies to work for, living wage foundation
Cons
Very fast paced office not for everyone depending on their IT skills

I really enjoyed this job
Accounts Clerk (Former Employee) - staverton - 25 May 2021
This job that I came to was for 5 years and a real pleasure to enjoy. Hard Graft, challenging, but they let you handle it within parameters. There were certainly "let your hair down" days, but you were there to do a job. There were evening events that were quite fun, and great to meet our contacts, though it was obligatory. We also received occasional perks of food, wrong labels etc at cost price. Finally they decided to restructure which I think added work to my job, I was already at stretching point. One sad reason for leaving was, personal circumstances demands, clashing with work demands saw me take the redundancy option
Pros
atmosphere
Cons
Stickler for timekeeping. Can we let go of suits, for more casual?
