Worst place to work for ever.
Customer Service (Former Employee) - Dumfries, Dumfries and Galloway - 2 September 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedRun by incompetent managers and directors who couldn't organise a p*** up in a brewery. No support. No training. If your face fits (a*** licker) then you would be treated ok. If it didn't you are treated like s***. Salary is a joke. No paid overtime. Go on holiday and you come back to a lot of mistakes done to your work and then you have to fix them with no help.

Good place to work
HGV Driver (Current Employee) - Lockerbie, Dumfries and Galloway - 29 October 2022
Not a bad place to work, wide range of loads and routes, shift patterns include Mon to Fri and 4 on 4 off on days, nights and tramping. Decent money for area and usually plenty of extra shifts available. Planners can be a bit erratic at times but over all a good bunch of lads in the office. Vehicles all reasonably new and well maintained. Some trailers are old and a bit tired but do the job. Would recommend curries as an employer, particularly for newly qualified drivers as they are one of a small number of local hauliers who will take in new drivers straight away and send them out with an experienced driver for a couple of weeks. Only gave 4 stars as no employer is perfect.

if you like a clean working environment don’t step in the trucks only some drivers try and take care of them but it’s a loosing battle
Driver (Former Employee) - Ecclefechan, Dumfries and Galloway - 8 August 2022
Unfortunately the office staff can’t and won’t help drivers as all they care about getting loads delivered. Maybe they should just listen to drivers and maybe they would understand the pressure some drivers are under. All you have to do is look at the drivers they have lost and how long new drivers stay. Dayshift get £200 extra per month Nightshift just the flat rate.

Good Place to work
Operations Planner (Night Shift) (Current Employee) - Dumfries - 14 February 2022
Good company to work for. Busy busy. no 2 days were the same. I gained customer service experience. Most people that work there are helpful and will support you if needed.

stressful, low pay and no respect
Driver (Former Employee) - Scotland - 19 July 2021
best thing about this company was when i left, the company is ran by people who take, take, take with no give back to there employees (drivers). Planners are a law to them self and treat drivers like something on the bottom of there shoes, 100% would not recommend anyone to work for this company.
Pros
none
Cons
all of them

Steer clear
HGV Class 1 Driver (Former Employee) - Warrington - 2 September 2020
Where to start lies to from the beginning of interview told your breaks are deducted daily there not you have to do 50 hours plus your breaks and they will deduct hours if your trucks not back or your told to do a trailer check or you have to strap a load down before you leave the yard so only expect the basic hours but expect to do more. You are not supplied with ppe you are told to go buy it and then you only get 50percent back also your told you holidays are ok then when you come back your told your not getting paid for them
On top
Pros
Get shell app points when you fill up
Cons
Not paid properly no ppe

Dont make a mistake to work for this company. Every week you need to ask about your money. They have problem to pay your overtime hours. Better look for other job

poor wages, easy work.
Class 1 HGV Driver (Former Employee) - Dumfries and Galloway - 20 August 2019
Wage depends on the depot you work at for some reason, communication within the office is non existent. e.g. you could get a phone call from a planner asking a question and 20 mins later the same question from another planner. Get told to start at a time when the truck is 2 hours away from yard with no call or message to tell you so you have to sit and wait and still expect you to do full shift.
Truck are all newer than 3 years old I believe but most are in a terrible condition inside and out some of which I would refuse to drive due to the condition inside.
They do leave you alone and don't care about stopping for a bit on the road as long as you get delivery on time they don't bother you, however you will get times where you have say an 8am delivery 2 hours up the road but the truck isn't there till 8am and you get it from site asking why your late as they don't bother to let them know even when you ask them to.
Great for new driver who is just after experience and doesn't care about the hassle of this company as they will employ ANYONE.
You can fall asleep at the wheel and write off a truck and get a new one tomorrow.
They spend plenty of money on buying other companies out at the moment but don't care about the drivers.
They expect you to work every other Saturday and moan when you have plans one week even though there are plenty of drivers who NEVER do extra shifts.
Pros
easy work, office leaves you alone, newer trucks
Cons
treated poorly, disgusting trucks, poor wages

a traditional transport company
transport planner (Current Employee) - Warrington, Cheshire - 29 July 2019
The Warrington depot of Curries is a busy traffic office & warehouse. The difficulties are typical of the industry with time critical collections and deliveries. There is a great sense of satisfaction in meeting those deadlineas & matching the correct vehicle & trailer to the right job,

Steer clear
Transport Planner (Former Employee) - Warrington - 28 September 2018
Bad company to work for. Constant bullying from supervisors up to Director level. The hours were very long and you were also expected to give up 1 in 3 full day on a Saturday.
Pros
pay
Cons
everything else
