I have been a dental nurse at Damira Hillcrest for 2 years now. I am still yet to qualify but nevertheless, Damira is a great company to kick start your career in dentistry.Pros:• Love the actual job (what it entails)• Practice manager is brilliant (goes above and beyond for her staff, the patients and the practice)• Get on well with most of my colleagues Cons:• No opportunities given to progress after qualifying• Short staffed often which can result in missing college (not ideal- catching up is hard)• Always seem to be short of materials and resources that we use on a daily basis (pouches, paper towels)

Good company to progress

Started as trainee nurse with no experience, have now worked with several different specialists and have a great knowledge of dentistry. I’ve worked at a few damira practices over last five years, and each one varies depending on the manager. But generally I think the companies great, and its great that they look to promote the staff they have

Not to goo to work in here

The branch I worked in is a family business. The management was put in the position by someone else in the family, head nurse is his sister and at the reception was hired assistant manager’s brother as it was promised head receptionist role from day one. There are always new rule , but just for some people. Not everyone has to respect them. You are never appreciated, they have 1 to 1 from time to time saying just what you don’t do right . Never been tanked for anything I did and always asked to do more and more. Staff is constantly leaving but no one cares. Is just a place that aims for quick profit. I didn’t received proper training so I was always unsure what to answer or how to react in certain situations. They leave you alone with 4-5 dentists which is lots for one person , also the break is not always respected which is annoying.

Practice VS Head office

The team at the practice were mostly amazing and so supportive and you could talk to them about anything. We never really saw much of anyone higher than our practice manager. The practice manager at the time was horrible and picked her favourites and made it very obvious. She would constantly tell us we were just a number and were easily replaceable, the only important people there were the dentists.

Honest review

We have 5 surgeries running 5 days a week so it is a busy practice. At times it can be stressful, however, it is the team that makes Hillcrest. All of the dentists are lovely and appreciative, our manager is supportive, caring and a strong leader. Most of the nurses and receptionists are hardworking and willing to help each other.We have been short staffed for months now and it has put pressure on the team which is unfair.

Hillcrest

I've been a receptionist at hillcrest for over 18 months now , I can honestly say it's the best family/work environment I've ever had , are manager is kind , helpfull understanding and goes above and beyond for staff and patients, she helps us so we try and help her , it works so well . All hillcrest dentist's are so down to earth, kind and massively help make this lovely team work together. Thanks Hillcrest x

Great Team

The job is very fast paced and demanding but it is also very rewarding.The days can get hectic when all surgeries are running but as a team we all pull together. My manager is supportive and will always help she is always checking in on the team. I enjoy working here

Easy come,,, easy go this is a fact

If its not hard to get,,,, it’s easy to leave the jobI left for the following reasons 1- humiliation from a youngesster whom I respected and willing to help. 2- decontamination room lacks cross infection control. And not healthy at all3 -very hot place lacks proper air condition. 4 -Micromanagement 5- manipulation6-gas lighting Good luck

Unbelievable

This company embodies "dodgy corporate" - very little regard or understanding of how to run a practice (let alone multiple!). Puts money well before patients even though without them there would be no practice!

Work

It is a busy stressful role but it is rewarding as the patients are nice. You do have to work at different practices in the company this can be stressful and makes you feel anxious of not knowing where you will be working this is the hardest part of the jobThe teams do get fed up of empty promises from the area manager the practice manager is very good and understands how we are feeling The pay is not good for the area as accommodation costs most of your pay

Changes aren’t always good

The job is very rewarding and the team nice but they make you work in different practices as everyone is short staffed if you do not like this then the manager will call you and make you do it still they sometimes tell you on the morning The senior manager tells you different things to your face and I don’t like where management talk about other team members as I think it is unprofessional The pay is fair

A good workplace

Damira dental studio provides a safe working atmosphere with lots of opportunities for career growth. From my personal experience, I can say that the co-workers are quite supportive and helpful.

Supportive

I’ve worked for Damira nearly a year now within this time I was given the opportunity to progress in my career, it was challenging at first as it’s something i hadn’t done before but since taking the promotion I’ve been given endless support from the area manager who always wants to see her team do the best they can. The team are lovely and the practice has such a welcoming feel to it. The company are very supportive and are always willing to go the extra mile for those who put the work in

Progression and support

I found Damira by chance on indeed and have loved every minute with this company they are supportive, caring and encouraging if you want to put the effort into your job there are lots of benefits and ways to increase salary the PM is so friendly and area manager is amazing and always their for us all for anything work or life I enjoy my job every day it’s a great team

commitment = reward

Having worked at Damira for over 2 years I learned quickly that they are a fantastic company to work for, with great pay, fab colleagues, and plenty of support from SLT. The area manager is great and always willing to help and support if needed. She's an asset to the company. It's great to be part of a company that is having such great success.

Awful Company

Please don't believe the rubbish that is fed to you initially. Any company that claims to be a family is an immediate red flag.Management is aggressive, support centre is not supportive. I love the practice team but anything higher that PM are not to be trusted. I feel slightly stupid for having rose tinted glasses for this place. Area Managers earn less that some PMs, some PMs earn less than nurses

New senior management

Damira use to be such a lovely place to work. I have always thought that I would stay here for many years.Unfortunately, recent changes in senior management has made me rethink my career!Due to her aggressive management style and irrational outbursts that cause anxiety through the team. Damira as a company is fabulous but the new changes have soured the grape
