Fun but…
i enjoy my job and the employers are absolutely lovely and extremely supportive. however you don’t get a lot of pay due to being level 1 and have to pay to get level 2, 3 etc and level 3 isn’t worth it unless coaching is something you want to do full time. i’ve applied for another job on top of it so i can actually get money to survive every month

Toxic workplace
Worst place I have ever worked. Loyal, hard-working employees get little to no recognition while others far less deserving get praised and promoted. They openly value money over their people with unrealistic expectations sent from corporate who have no clue what working club level is like. They constantly ask for the most success and profit with little to no resources or support let alone realistic timescales. Staff of all levels are given zero accountability, sitting around on the job doing nothing at 40hrs a week, allowing entry level staff to hold authority over others while hardworking staff pick up the slack. Disgusting excuse for a “5 star” company/health club.

I have worked for David Lloyd for a number of years and have progressed within the company in a number of roles. I feel part of a team with a clear goal and enjoy going to work everyday.

Progression only fuelled by how much you brown nose managers
I worked in the clubroom for 4 years, saw every manner of member and customer who would make life a misery and never said a word and kept a smile on my face, management know these type of people come in who make staff uncomfortable and do nothing, understaffed overworked, naive decisions made by upper management meant staff were stretched thin working 50-55 hour weeks, all sugar coated by a lovely free membership! In my 4 years there were upper level roles made available always was snubbed for it by someone who had hardly any experience of the department but who could keep the managers ring polished so they’d get it instead, generally nosediving the department! Company has no regard for hardworkers only those who fit in with the image despite not knowing what day of the week it is and will quickly demoralise those who bring great ideas that will help the department.

Great place to work.
