Sack the lot and start afresh with new vibrant, forward thinking management team fit for the 21st century. Tear up the old working practice and get Management out of their cosy Office and spend more time on the shop floor. But not just to walk around with their "Look at me, I am all that" attitude and to threaten staff to open accounts and get emails - but to engage themselves with customers and floor staff alike and to recognise the strength and weakness of their store.
Better communication between management and lower rank staff. Say please and thank you and talk to staff with respect and not just barking orders all the time. Stop threatening staff who doesn't manage to open many accounts and get email capture. Concentrate on customer SERVICE not customer HARASSMENT to open accounts. Appreciate staff's hardwork on shopfloor and keeping store tidy and well stocked - not number of accounts opened. Stop looking at cctv to check on staff.
Pay staff for hours worked might be an idea.
Acknowledging the hardwork normal staff do. Do not come to talk to them just to talk about selling more credit cards, about the importance of daily upselling and sideselling, about meeting departmental daily targets, about things not being done due to shortage of staff and seeing only all the negative things. And acknowledge that staff only have two hands and we only have 24 hours in a day and not make staff finish a ton of outstanding work and stayed late and not pay overtime.
The management is well aware of the reason and have said to me they expect high turnover rate in employee's. The fact is they ain't bothered if you stay or if you go.
Great place to work with great colleagues ( apart some "clever" ) and super amazing supervisor on night shift at oxford st. but the management doesn't respect our supervisor; and some ( 1 or 2 ) guys from the team are doing what they wont they look like ouners and their daily job is limit, and the rest of the night they spend it on hiding themselves and watching movies on mobiles, would be great and fantastic if someone from the top of management sort out this.... Learn how to talk to people in a kind and respectful manner. Make sure the shifts are consistent and not being changed every week a day or two in advance.
