Long hours

Good experience, long hours. You will get to do a lot of interesting work but the deadlines are tight. Overall would recommend as it looks good on the CV.

Very good place to excel in a profession

I gained a diversified in depth experience for the years I worked. Still benefiting from the foundation and multi-tasking skills I acquired there. A school of business where being an Alumni makes a difference in your career.

Great firm shame about the behaviour of some key partners.

They tell you that there is lots of work. In reality there is very limited opportunities. In the firm you need to “be the teachers pet” to get the good engagements.

Pros

Great culture.

Cons

Partners need to be empathetic. It’s not all about the money.

Everyone was really helpful and the work environment was excellent

Work starts around 8:30/9. Nobody clock watches which is good. You can crack on with your work and as long as you have it done you can work flexibly from home or from the office

Pros

Great office culture and environment, good pay

Cons

Long hours at times

Challenging and dynamic

Lots of highly motivated people, work can be tough at times but support is available, lots of opportunity to get involved in projects and stand out for progression

diverse tasks and good company culture

The culture of the company is great and people are helpful as well. The type of tasks is diverse and would add a good experience to your portfolio for working in fintech companies

An OK place to work

It is an OK place to work . Long hours. Management are OK. Culture is good. Hardest part of the job is volume of work vs deadlines imposed but that is client specific.

Great for progression if willing to sacrifice a lot of time

The general pressure to work more than your contracted hours is huge. All of my managers work a good extra 3 hours per day (overtime is unpaid) and I was really not jealous of their position. Even juniors had stories of working from 8am to 6am (yes, 22 hours). Not for me. The company is also extremely pretentious on a governance level and they act as though you have peaked in life by working here.

Great altogether

Good pay and work life balance. Progression varies a lot depending on multiple factors. A lot of dependency on the practitioner to network with leadership across the org.

Solid work experience with plenty to learn but slow career progression

What is the best part of working at the company?Innovation, collaboration, flexible working schedule, clear career pathwayWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company?Hit utilisation targets, especially during the projects quiet timeWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company?Quite friendly and supportive team in a day to day work basis. However when you need to solve a more complex problem, you may feel like left on your own or if you are supported - the process can be very lengthy, repetitive and as a result demotivating. When it comes to promotions - it may take years to progress. No tailored approach to individual career progression. Some people would gain extra qualifications, have broad experience and work hard as willing to achieve more but this would not matter much - what matters is just to do your job for 12 months at each level in order to get to the next one - this may feel very demotivating. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Regular communication with project managers in order to provide admin support and have as much chargeable time as possible (tasks completed for projects) and minimum of non-chargeable (admin/ operations tasks or downtime), regular reports (pulling data from various systems into excel incl. pivot tables), events planning, invoicing, emails, ad hoc tasks (minutes taking, data updating). Variety of tasks - every day is different.

Demanding but very rewarding.

Demanding but very rewarding.Every day was different.Great sense of teamwork + some very clever people.Excellent support. However, can be very bureaucratic as a consequence of the nature and scale of the business.Promotion from within can leave knowledge gaps.

Pros

Fulfilling.

Cons

Long hours at certain times.

Great opportunities and professional development

The learning and development you gain from day to day job at a firm like deloitte is invaluable. The exposure to clients and large varied data give you a solid skill set that can be adapted and carried throughout your career.

Good experience to have on your CV but not a good experience

I joined as a complaints handler contractor for 3 months:Unorganized - no communication between client and Deloitte. Overworked - 16+ hour days to complete accreditation with minimal training using complicated software. No work life balance. Pressure tactics used to push targets higher. No closing email/communication to thank for work completed during contract and no response to questions asked surrounding further contracts/work after contract had ended. Impersonal and no care for effort or work/life balance.

Pros

Work experience, learning new skills

Cons

No work life balance, impersonal, pressure tactics to achieve targets

Fun

What you expect, good environment, challenging work but rewarding. Exam/qualification opportunities. Lots of benefits through employment at the company

backwards and hierarchical method of managing people

Focus on being present at work to evaluate performance rather than actual output. In spite of the campaign to promote agile working, there seems to be no actual application of this in practice. The management is only performative when it comes to diversity and inclusion. Everything is done for the sake of being seen and not out of genuine concern for employees.

A good stepping stone

You learn alot quickly and can transfer skills to a number of industries. But long hours and quick turnarounds take a toll on wellbeing. This lack of work life balance caused burn out

Worked here for 8 years - loved it

You couldn’t start your career anywhere better. Great opportunity, talented people. High pressure but progression if you’re suited to the role and can deal with the stress.

Pros

Great people

Cons

Long hours
