Care Worker in Staveley, Derbyshire
on 23 October 2020
Racism
The management were very good and though i did not take to the job (my fault) they were very supportive and though the job of working with people with dementia was difficult and demanding i did feel it was very rewarding. My big problem was racism by one woman and was witnessed by another member of staff . I did report it to the management but i left soon after that and i did feel i was the one coursing trouble and they never got back to me and felt that it was swept under the carpet, with this i was very disappointed with the management and lost faith in them.

Poor management structure
Poor support from managers, too many managers doing the same job, unorganised, poor resources offered for students , uncaring HR, lack of technology in classrooms.

No future if you are ambitious
The management at this place are poor and totally incompetent, one of the biggest issues is the dead wood staff that have been carried by the establishment all of the careers.
Care Worker/Support Worker in Shirebrook
on 8 September 2020
Good pay, hard shift patterns
Good pay for the job with enhancements for hours after 7pm. 3 shift system was horrendous, wanted to change 1 shift every 6 weeks and was denied. Really poor work/home life balance as you can be doing days, nights and afters in 1 week. Constantly given extra shifts that when not asked, mainly at weekends. Works on a 6 week rota so it's very rare you get a weekend off. Staff where lovely but senior carers didnt actually do any care just meds and office work. Building very dated with no ensuites so commode used.
Business Services Assistant in Swadlincote, Derbyshire

Secure and supported
Great team, various areas to progress in, money isn’t amazing but enough, team work ethic and support. Regular training programmes, team dynamics. Lunch breaks, annual leave entitlement, flexi and TOIL.
