The management were very good and though i did not take to the job (my fault) they were very supportive and though the job of working with people with dementia was difficult and demanding i did feel it was very rewarding. My big problem was racism by one woman and was witnessed by another member of staff . I did report it to the management but i left soon after that and i did feel i was the one coursing trouble and they never got back to me and felt that it was swept under the carpet, with this i was very disappointed with the management and lost faith in them.
Nice staff(most) Better pay than most care places
Rasism with certain staff
The management at this place are poor and totally incompetent, one of the biggest issues is the dead wood staff that have been carried by the establishment all of the careers.
Management aren't bright enough to monitor you.

Good pay for the job with enhancements for hours after 7pm. 3 shift system was horrendous, wanted to change 1 shift every 6 weeks and was denied. Really poor work/home life balance as you can be doing days, nights and afters in 1 week. Constantly given extra shifts that when not asked, mainly at weekends. Works on a 6 week rota so it's very rare you get a weekend off. Staff where lovely but senior carers didnt actually do any care just meds and office work. Building very dated with no ensuites so commode used.
Good pay, lovely staff
3 shift system makes home life difficult
Great team, various areas to progress in, money isn’t amazing but enough, team work ethic and support. Regular training programmes, team dynamics. Lunch breaks, annual leave entitlement, flexi and TOIL.
Great team, support, mainly all management is friendly.
Worked for them for 11 years covered shifts for them helped in office and other centres too but ,,,,, hurt my back at work Mc they couldn’t wait to get rid of me not the first one that it’s happened to either ,,, would answer the phone to me at all when I was off rude arrogant no equal opportunity’s in this council treated me like dirt never again

My job include mopping cleaning toilets dusting and hoovering offices emptying bins keeping it to high standards my line manager was good any problems they was resolved quickly nothing really hard about.my job just remembering the cleaning solutions dosage I really enjoyed my job the people where great
I work in residential care for the elderly, it has been a pleasure working with the management and staff. The residents are amazing people who we learn from everyday. The hardest part of the job can be when there are staff shortages, this can cause stress as the dedicated care team try to meet all the social and care needs on an individual basis.
If you apply for a job and you are successful for interview make sure you ask about “Vertas and Concertus because Derbyshire county council IS joining a venture with the above companies and you could be transferred over to them in which your pay, terms and conditions, Holiday, sick pay could all change, management don’t tell you anything about this and your left in the dark and the meetings you have are a waste of time as nothing is answered, I have now left because of this uncertainty of your job,
