I started with this organisation in 2015 and was planning to stay for 6 months. Here I am almost 7 years later and still loving everyday. No two days are the same, I have been supported by my peers and line management throughout and will definitely recommend everyone to give this sector a go. I grow and learn everyday and have the opportunity to support others to grow and learn too. Often what I do, does not feel like work, I can't believe I get paid for some of the things I have the privilege of doing. I have been given opportunities to further my education and received specialist training in interesting areas. There is always someone ready to listen when I need a hand.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave such a positive review. WOW 7 years! Thank you so much for your continued support and loyalty to the organisation. It’s so lovely to read when employees have been on a professional journey with us and we always try to allow for new opportunities with support for additional training and education. Thanks, Melissa.

Supportive colleagues & Management

I love working with Dimensions because of the difference I make to every service users day. The training path is amazing. Again, very comprehensive and supportive, with staff doing everything they can to support new staff to reach their goals within the company. Like most companies there could be positive changes to help newbies grasp the software they use.The rota system is outdated, giving you little warning of your shifts, so it’s difficult to plan for family time. But, despite those little niggles, I’m very proud to be a part of the Dimensions group

Pros

Realistic shift patterns

Cons

Long days 07.30-22.00 are tough

Dreadful since the takeover.

What is the best part of working at the company?Unfortunately there were no best bits working for this company as they came in and changed everything and run down and continue to do so the LD services they bought from the Council in Somerset. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The company running the services for profit and not caring about the people they were supporting. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Negative as all new staff brought in worked against the more experienced staff who were all very good at their jobs, but all left due to workplace changes. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Left to get on with it with little or no direct contact from the company.

Thank you for leaving this lovely well rounded 4* review for Dimensions. Its great to hear you feel there is a good company culture and that no day is the same

Thorough training but lack of shadowing for new staff

Management and staff were all inviting but I found a lack in shadowing/induction/teaching when learning the ropes of what was a brand new company/home and clients. Needs a more thorough process to ensure new starters are safe and comfortable with all expected working practices and that they have been shown properly how to do things before asking them to take on such tasks.

Pros

Induction training and friendly staff

Cons

Lack of a shadowing experience

Thank you for taking your time to leave this fantastic 5* review for Dimensions. It's great to hear you feed you're surrounded by good management and staff who are passionate about their jobs, being a values led organisation this is very important to us. It's also good to hear you feel staff are well trained. Thank you once again!

Huge mistake.

I can't say anything good about Dimensions. I was initially impressed by their core values and the way their services seemed to run well and the training was good. But management do not care one jot about their staff. It would seem so from the outside but any complaints made by staff equal less hours on the rota instead of results, mental health of staff is regarded as inconvenient and staff are expected to man a sinking ship with no direction or guidance, especially when it comes to challenging behaviour. None of the staff have anything good to say about the company, especially management when in a group setting. An art activity turned out to be a major b****ing session. Toxic culture in services due to unresolved issues between staff, thanks to no action by management. No incentive to work overtime and no thanks if you do so anyway. Rotas are changed last minute, no work/life balance. Certain staff are cliquey with management so they are prioritized. Overall an awful company to work for if you value your sanity.

Managers don't care

Management are never around when you need them. You are basically just left alone to deal with everything and the on call managers don't know what they are doing.

Pros

Blue light card

Cons

Long hours

No confidence in management

Management at all levels unapproachable and never get back to you. Ig and when they do they provide excuses and are extremely patronising. Say they care and lives matter as does work life balance, sadly not the case. Rotas are only issued at the last minute and no honesty and integrity from management. Poor pay and long hours. No support from managers and push EAP at you which only provide temporary sticking plasters instead of long term solutions . Questionable ethics with virtually no morals.

They live their values.

Great onboarding experience, particularly around inclusivity. Everybody seems to live the values and are extremely passionate about the purpose and people we support. This is my first remote role - but I have not felt at all isolated and have been very welcomed and supported by everyone. Great induction, initial e-learning training, communication, access to information. Senior directors took the time to say hello and welcome me to the team during my induction.

No work life balance

Lovely residents but never enough staff to support them.lots of mind numbing computer work which detracts from their support. Not very good pay but you can do loads of over time. Some of the staff are idle and think they can do what ever they want and leave it to the other staff.

Pros

Lovely residents

Cons

Poor pay over worked not supported by ma

Management not supportive

It was very rewarding to work with vulnerable adults and see them thrive, however, the lack of support from management made it an unpleasant place to work. I felt that support workers were not listened to, even when safeguarding concerns were raised by staff. Some of the staff that were employed were unprofessional ans it seemed like they were employing any person just to fill a gap.

Pros

The people you support

Cons

Management, no work-life balance

Gaslighting

Rude and disrespectful management. If you don’t fit in they will find an excuse to get rid of you. Happily backstab you and work you into the ground. Expect to be disrespected daily and expected to work like a robot

Pros

Lovely People being supported
