On a good day it's great when it's not it's not repeatable
Trade Plate Driver / inspector (Former Employee) - Corby - 4 July 2019
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by Indeed1> A typical day there isn't one.
2> What I've learned you might earn £100 in a 17hr day. But you would have had to pay out for buses trains and possibly a taxi costing you . They might send you a authorize travel code for part of the cost.
3> Management Don't really have much to do with them.
4> Workplace culture like a school playground bullies and clicks.
5>The hardest part is over optimistic routing you have to plan and make work. You'll get the impression they think you just drive the car around all day and don't have to stop and get out of the car.
6>The most enjoyable part is The feeling when you get home on a good day and everything has gone to plan it does happen from time to time.
Pros
Can get to drive nice cars on occasion
Cons
long hours can end up paying out +£50 in expenses in a day

Caring, supportive, innovative, knowledgeable.
Planning Supervisor (Current Employee) - Birmingham - 19 November 2021
I have worked for DMN for almost 5 years now. They are a caring company and it really feels like a family here. I have seen many people come and go but all have left an impression and are well remembered. Almost every daily conversation I have feels like talking to a friend.

Don’t go to them
Trailer driver (Former Employee) - Doncaster - 15 May 2020
First it was all good even though the trucks and trailers hadn’t arrived until we found out the extra hours we did we wouldn’t be paid for as we was contracted to 45hrs and on salary that’s when things went down hill as all the driver refused to do anything over 45hrs per week.
Treated like rubbish, management didn’t care, office staff didn’t know what they were doing

This company is only rated 1 star
Plate driver (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 20 April 2020
This company expects the drivers to pay for their own travel and they don't get it claim back well they're at a complete disadvantage by doing this go to intertek all expenses of fully paid back based in Northampton
Pros
Expenses are not reimbursed. Long hours
Cons
You can work for 17 hours for £100 that's true

Busy and varied
Driver class 2 (Current Employee) - Nottinghamshire - 11 March 2020
Worked for 4 other fleet companies who were dreadful - DMN are a breath of fresh air in comparison.
Been with them 8 months it's fine and busy.
Most of the reviews on here are typical of new drivers in the industry - either get on with it or work somewhere else. Yes it's long hours and the pay isn't brilliant but I have no stress compared to my other jobs in a past life.
After working in warehouses, I'd much rather be on the road each day seeing new places.

Long hours
Trade Plate Driver (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 9 February 2020
Unregulated.
Working 10/12 hours per day = £5/6 per hour.
Some days 20 hours.
Dangerous out driving for long hours.
Early start every day.
Do not pay all travel expenses between jobs.
Pay min £65 per day and u pay most travel.
Self employed - no pension or holiday pay and national insurance contributions or
bonuses or benefits for drivers. Christmas party - drivers not invited!

Bunch of Muppets
Driver (Former Employee) - Nationwide - 3 February 2020
I'm amazed that this company even manages to run, given the total lack of brain cells the staff have. They were rude, unhelpful and arrogant from the start and I would strongly advise working for a proper company instead of this circus.

Avoid at all costs
Vehicle Demonstrator (Former Employee) - Leicester, Leicestershire - 5 January 2020
These people only care about how much money they can make, they don’t care about you or your health and they know they can get away with that because you are self employed! Only work here if you think you are about to be homeless and have no other job left! Do not be fooled by the amount you COULD make, the management think you will agree to any job they through at you, well in my case I said no and that’s why I lead told they won’t carry on with me, they expect you to kill yourself for them

Don’t work for these clowns
Trade Plate Driver (Former Employee) - National - 17 December 2019
Terrible place to work, bad pay , bad management. Long days don’t get paid for driving hire cars 300 miles home from Scotland. Have to pay for your own transport between jobs.

5 years at Dmn
Driver (Current Employee) - North East - 28 November 2019
DMN are a fair company who are willing to help and support when needed and also give you the independence to work at you own place. 5 years here and there still a company who continue to grow.

difficult and stressful
Trade Plate Driver (Former Employee) - Birmingham - 8 November 2019
The job could be acceptable if the company understood basic human rights. The method used to circumvent this fundamental right is the self employment model which shifts all responsibility from the employer to the employee. This allows companies to abuse the contractor (driver) using the excuse of flexible working and tax efficiency as its excuse.
The future for this type of self employment needs to be looked into in this type of industry.

Long days, helpful team
Driver (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 20 October 2019
I’ve worked as a driver for over 8 yrs and DMN are one of the better companies I’ve been with. I was there from Jan 18 to May 19 before retiring.
The days are long and you need lots of thinking on your feet but you either love it or hate it, it didn’t bother me after a while.
Money was ok, some good days, some where I earned the base £65 but usually brought home about £1600-1800 per month.
Staff in the office were helpful, always bought a car home every night not like my last job where I had to make my own way home

Depressing company to work for
Driver (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 19 October 2019
Long hours for little pay. 60 hours a week for £65. Minus some travel.
Planning terrible. Over optimistic by miles. Only the collection and delivery count to the management and controllers.
Expect pressure to go way beyond the hours to pick up a collection or do a delivery.
Laughably, they have made a glossy video to attract drivers. It is keeping drivers that count. They don't care.
Turnover of staff is over 65%. that should tell you something

Grabbers
Trade Plater (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 23 August 2019
This company willuse you and take every opportunity to recover as much money as they can from your meagre wages if you over fuel vehicles or make any mistakes such as running out of fuel or breaking down. As to expenses expect to argue over every penny. They pay a minimum daily rate but out of this they expect you to contribute around £10 to £12 per day.
Pros
None
Cons
Long hours, poor pay, no support from managemment

5* reviews?
Driver (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 11 August 2019
It's a mug's game.
'Competitive remuneration' (only means as bad as everywhere else).
The bottom line is the job is very poorly paid for hours worked and expenses incurred.
The clue is in the 'self-employed' status.
5* reviews - somebody's having a laugh.

Love working here!!
Driver (Current Employee) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire - 29 May 2019
Very good company to work for, they care about drivers which is rare in this industry! Would definitely recommend as a place to work!
Company is growing all the time, been here for 5 months and already seen growth which is positive!
Started doing inspect and collect now so at least drivers have something to progress to (and earn more money!)
Pros
Career progression, always assist and never leave a driver stranded
Cons
Sometimes long hours but other days very short days
