Domino is a good place to work, I worked there for over 12 years, management is something that needs to be worked on, only care about amount of work going out, not the people who actually worked for them. The money isn’t great but they do have some good benefits, social events etc. Lots of Eastern European workers speaking in own language, which was annoying when you were working with them.Lots of learning opportunities.
Benefits, good working start/ finish times.
The company as a whole is a very good employer but a particular department is managed extremely poorly.. firstly the role is an Account Managers role but call it a support role so the wage are reduced. There is bullying, unfair treatment and poor customer treatment but if you stood up to that you were penalised. In 6 months 50% of the staff left the department iof GCS and when mentioned n the exit interview I was told they knew there was a problem but didnt know how to deal with it.
Subsidised canteen. Social club.
Hired for helping building a new printer together with teams from Italy and Switzerland. Unfortunately the project was cancelled for financial reasons. Domino is part of Brothers group bit it keeps it dimension in Cambridge. THe management have been mostly in Domino since its foundation and care about the newcomers too.
The owner is reducing its labour force
Bad management poor pay really bad atmosphere don't care about staff work annualised hours which benifets the company no paid overtime unless you work weekends and what ever you do don't apply as you will be mind numb within the first day and you are treated like a robot and stay in one spot all day. Management and HR don't understand mental health and if you don't suffer with one you will by the time managemant and HR get their hands on you!
annulised hours management need work they don't understand mental health
typical day chaos. Annual hours used. no control over hours work all ways calling in. Don't get paid for extra hours unless its weekend work. Management don't know how to manage. Promotion only happens if you know the manager involved. Pay used to be good, higher than most companies. Now falling behind other similar companies. And don't seem to care. Most people are good here and care about the company. Good social club and canteen is good
People, canteen social club sometimes get friday's off
Lack of control on annualised hours, poor promotion
In my role as an office administrator, I provided support to departments in terms of administration. My responsibilities included confirming stock was sound for export, taking an accurate and a frequent stock count, filing documents and storing records, dealing with clients via telephone and email and also data inputting. Another duty of mine was to help out on the production line, labelling and packing goods and moving goods around the warehouse using a pallet truck.
great company to work for with fantastic opportunities to progress. A large percentage of employees have been there for many years, which demonstrates that it is a good company to work for.
Recently bought out by the Brother Group. Investing in some new roles but lacking in career progression. Fantastic positive people who are willing to be led regarding health and safety. Field staff are a pleasure to deal with as they're receptive to H&S and recognise the need for Risk Assessments and controls.
arrive at goods in and log on to system, start booking in deliveries and checking delivery sheets, once booked and labelled then put to bed. deliveries go on all day, breaks at pre arranged timetable(which everyone ignores) some lazy people in this department. Health and safety checks once a month which is by a check sheet on the system, meetings every second Wednesday. the hardest part of this job was convincing people that something needed changing and meeting a brick wall, passage of information was non existent.
