Night Audit Supervisor/Driver (Former Employee) - Aberdeen, Aberdeen City - 22 June 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWorked there as night supervisor for about 3 years, it was ok and I was lucky to have a great team . The pay is standard but the work itself wasn't too overwhelming

Insights into DoubleTree by Hilton
Areas for improvement
- Support from manager
- Energising work tasks
- Time and location flexibility
don't know the pay now but it was horrendous back before covid.
Receptionist (Former Employee) - Bristol - 11 June 2022
your average "do something, even though there is nothing to do" type of place. It would only get busy in the morning and afternoon, and after that its mind bogglingly boring.

Not the best management and organisation
Food and Beverage Assistant (Former Employee) - Kingston upon Hull - 29 May 2022
Good for student work however management sometimes seemed non existent. Some con workers were difficult to work with. Training was never usually given and a lot of people hired with no experience. When working on the bar during the day, sometimes left alone to run restaurant, bar and room service for a few hours

Overworked
Room Attendant (Former Employee) - Tower Hill Station - 30 April 2022
*please note this may not apply to every branch but one I was at was run like this.* As a room attendant you are expected to clean 2 (sometimes more) rooms an hour, however, the overall hygiene of the rooms is very questionable when you actually discover how the rooms are to be cleaned. During my training I was shown how to clean each room and was told what to use for each area of the rooms and en suite. To put it short, I was shown to clean all mirrors with just plain water and if there was no cleaning cloths available to “use a pillowcase”. You’re given one bucket to clean all the rooms for the day and the cleaning cloths don’t get cleaned or changed in between so you’re basically carrying bacteria from one room to another, the same cloth that’s used for dusting the room and en-suite is the same cloth the person training me used to clean the cutlery in the room before throwing the toilet brush back into the bucket to contaminate the other cleaning cloths and supplies.
Pros
Free lunch
Cons
Bad management, overworked, spoken down to when you raise concerns

Disappointing experience. Staff overworked.
Desperately understaffed, company has a very high staff turnover, management rude, stressfull environment, inadequate rest periods between shifts, working long hours without any breaks or food, frequently underpaid.
Pros
Tap water provided on-site
Cons
Long hours, no breaks

Fun and face paced
Guest Service Agent (Former Employee) - Manchester Piccadilly Station, Greater Manchester - 8 April 2022
A fun and friendly environment that can become quite stressful when busy. The front desk team were amazing to work with so cannot fault them. The role taught me about work ethic and how to thrive when you are overrun with various tasks. As a Guest Service Agent, expect to be running around a lot, so a good level of physical fitness is required.
Pros
Free lunch
Cons
Mix of shift patterns (earlier and lates) and 7am Sunday shifts

Alot of work expected for minimum wage.
Food and Beverage Assistant (Current Employee) - Ealing, Greater London - 14 March 2022
Such a mixed bag of experiences working for this chain! All-rounder in the service style, with different types of large-scale events being common alongside the running of food and beverage operations. Real sense of loyalty both with staff and returning customers; but holes can easily be poked in the management style, hiring practice and career progression elements of the job. Quite a fair bit of pressure put onto staff for lack of experience and not given proper training. Will look good on a CV and for experience working in all aspects of hospitality.

A shadow of its former self
Front of House Staff (Former Employee) - Swindon - 24 February 2022
It's a hotel, expect to work under pressure with minimal staff for minimum wage and no support from management or human resources who are only out for themselves

Spa Therapist (Former Employee) - Chester - 17 February 2022
If you are a good therapist you should definitely know your worth and not worth here there is no respect you don't have enough time to eat your lunch which is docked from your days wage no turn over time and they don't stick to the 6 hours of massage a day rule, also they don't even know your name and your treated like poo

Free lunch
Cons
Everything else

Very long hours, not enough staff. Poor salary
Chef de Partie (Former Employee) - London - 16 February 2022
Typically you would work 10-12h a day with not a lot of breaks. Always short of staff. Always under preassure. And you are not paid enoughfor this. I have made good friends there but they were also leaving due to how they were being treated. Management just look at numbers and not people.
Pros
Great people Nice commute
Cons
Long hours Poor pay Bad management Lack of equipement

Brekfast/Commis Chef (Former Employee) - Kingston upon Hull - 1 February 2022
I have made some good friends from here but be sure to keep your personal life out of here as they take no consideration into any aspect of what is happening within your life.
Pros
The staff who actually do the work
Cons
Management using things against you

Can be long hours. Benefits for travel are amazing.
Waitress/Bar Staff (Former Employee) - Victoria, Greater London - 17 January 2022
The management can be toxic. Everything must be to their liking and your input is 'considered' but never accepted. If the managers do not like you, your life is hard at work. But, the overall staffing here is friendly. The benefits for travel is good and work-life balance is good.
