Multi Drop Delivery Driver in Cardiff

Hard work for long hoursIt's a good job for improving your van driving skills as well as stress management but depending on your management you can expect to be working constantly without adequate breaks for 6-7 days a week, with a GPS/Scanner called a Saturn that constantly takes you the wrong way and frequently suffers from issues especially in wet or warm weather, sometimes in areas and on routes that one can't reasonably be expected to safely drive a large van with an ETA window small enough to be earning more than minimum wage. You might get paid more than other jobs but usually only because you'll be working so much, so much that you can kiss goodbye to any other life goals or work life balance especially around Christmas. For the amount of effort and stress it's probably not that good pay. However, if you get put in a good area consistently and can learn the route you could make good money and finish at an alright time and it's good experience overall so might as well have a go if you're thinking of doing it.

Quite stressfulWorked for franchise. The job when delivering I am paid £1 a stop, averaging around 100 parcels a day. DPD do not care about drivers or inconvenience that they cause from my experience. They seem to care only about your window, if you get delayed for whatever reason they do not care, or if you end up working 16 hours a day for less than minimum wage. A LOT depends on your route though, a good condensed route in an area you know then can make it a very enjoyable job. You get decent money and fairly quickly. They do not care about weight and size of parcels. Multiple times i have been sent out with two man needed parcels

NiceFlexible work and it’s nice to meet colleagues from different walks of life. The staff support is great and any queries are responses to immediately. The work life balance is perfect if you are student or have another main job.

It is not a productive job or a fun place to work. Unorganised people managing a great system.I worked for about a year at dpd, as a delivery driver. DPD have a great system, maybe the best in UK, but unqualified people are managing it.It was frustrating to have a schedule for every week and changing it one day before. It happened so many times…I had to be at the depot at 5am and after 30 minutes they sent me home with no reason. The final mistake was in the last working day: I loaded all the packages and in the moment I wanted to live the depot, the manager said I will earn less money starting from that moment.
