Opportunity for Growth Non Existent…for women

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
It’s great for the men at the workplace, they get all the training and progression opportunities but for women that just doesn’t happen. You get given the responsibilities but none of the opportunity or pay.

Overworked underpaid

You will deliver 120 stops on average everyday without fail, 120 stops could be anywhere from 130-170 parcels of ALL shapes and sizes! The van is loaded to the roof. The routes themselves aren’t too bad but you have to go through and re route stuff because the system isn’t perfect. If you finish bang on time at the beginning of your delivery window you’ll be doing a 9-10 hour day. You get paid £100 for 100 stops, anything over that and they pay you a measly 50p a stop, so if you do 120 stops you get £110 and any of those stops could have 5 or more parcels and they’re paying you 50p for it. 10-20 stops could take you 2 hours to do. If you enjoy being overworked and underpaid go there. You’re told to take everything and once you’re out on the road you’re on your own.

Waste time

They charge for everything. When you notice you are working for free. Starting asking for a ridiculous £1000 for van deposit. You never see this money back. If you miss any parcel, they will charge you for that. Don't wate your time with this company.

Didnt enjoyed been played by managers

Manager has no respect for drivers. They only give work to their close friends drivers while others are push on side or given the left overs or given no work at all. Poor communication in management hierarchy. Absolute disgrace. Business promise/ model complete turned to be false. I do not recommend this company to work as multi drop driver

Stressful and unpredictable.

I'll start with how they don't consider the fact you might not be able to use a toilet all day and for women at a certain time of the month... this isn't good. If you're given a route in the middle of no where there's no toilets or signal half the time. Also, if you're given a large van then you are likely to have some large, heavy, difficult parcels. Again, not suitable for some women. Some people have smaller vans so you'd be lucky to have one of those which means you get an easier route and smaller parcels. There is pressure to keep to time scales and it's easy to get lost and behind on time if you have a country side route. Once you become behind there's pressure and stress to catch up. You don't know your route or how many parcels you have until the morning you arrive so therefore can't plan anything after work and finish time is unpredictable. Also, on two occasions I turned up to then be sent home an hour later unpaid because there was 'no route'.

Some of the other drivers are really nice and helpful. Uniform provided.

Long days if you have a big van, Problems can arise anytime which makes your day even longer, Unpredictability of finish time.

Fast paced with no help

Awful place to work for, especially with parcel sorting. Permanently under staffed.Angry drivers, never went a day without arguing with someone. They promised a full contract after 3 months, worked there for 7 months and never got the contract.

Under staffed.

Simply awful

How dpd sleep at night is anyones guess they treat people like slaves. i was an odf for four years & in that time they caused a death of a fellow odf when they used to fine you £150 a day if you took time off as well as a loss of days earnings, the stress they put you under is emence to the point of making you ill & then fine you for taking time off. They constantly lie about the more you wotk the more you earn. rea reality
