Not bad but needs improvement

Indeed featured review

Not bad but needs improvements. Micromanaging at dpd is the norm. Also managers confused and don’t seem to know what’s going on. The is no progression but overall can put head down.

A very fast paced work environment.

A very fast paced work environment. Not bad for me because I have the strength and knowledge around jobs like this, however I won’t recommend the job for anyone who is not strong enough, easily gets emotional and has health conditions.

Heavy lifting, working hours diferent.

Heavy lifting, working hours diferent every day, hourly pay not match minimum pay per hour, problem solving on your own and if you lose parcel you pay for it.

Great place to work, solid pay and staff. Sometimes give away free food if the week has gone well. Clean facilities that are easy to navigate and even if you are confused everyone is happy to help you out.

Long hours

Long hours.. Management don't care. Horrible place to work. Devices don't work in the rain. All management care about is the parcels. The voice of the drivers is never heard.

Stressful and disorganised

I would rather not comment as the company is extremely disorganised. Management is completely detached from workers. In general I wouldn't recommend to join dpd.

Okay if your face fits

Little to no work for us, No logic to working there, unnecessary mind numbing jobs! Made to feel unimportant by Management in hub 5!

Shift hours when we got them, Facilities reasonable, Hub 4 was nice to work at, Staff friendly

Unnecessary observation from management, Inappropriate expectations of jobs we weren't trained for, Hard work was not acknowledged, Made to feel like a number not a name, Turned away without notice on arrival on several occasions due to miscommunication

Good pay

Good pay....more you work, more you earnSome days long hours, but overal decent being on road if you enjoy itLoading early morning in cold sometimes an issue, but nothing to bother too much about...once on road, a place to enjoy alone and get work done

Courier driver

Wages constantly change, “day rate” also changes, you don’t get paid to load or unload ur van, collections you get paid £1 that’s collecting 1 parcel or 100 parcels, if your good at your job you get the harder route but no extra bonus, this means people with easier routes will finish a lot earlier then you and can make more money then you, it’s a bit of a joke to be honest. Depending on who you are hired by depends if you need to pay for your van to take home (daily charge)

Van, fuel card, uniform provided eventually

Dreadful hours if your good at what you do

No very good company to work for

If you have any problems the managerment pass the book and things never get sorted out so most people just leave the company manager to not answar there phone so you are stuck out there on your own

Nice uniform

Long hours poor management

Work life balance not good, place is chaotic

Monday to Friday your parcels are supposed to be in a certain place, most of them are but then you have to run around trying to find the rest as it will be mixed in with someone elses route, or in a place it shouldn't be. Saturday and Sunday its chaos your parcels are everywhere, you'll have one in the middle of the warehouse that you've been looking for for 3 hours. I've spent 3 hours looking for parcels that management wont remove from my list and they expect you to keep within your time. Their satnav is rubbish it will at least once or twice a shift minimum take you to the wrong street so make sure you have a smartphone, Some managers talk to you like dirt but cant handle it when you speak the same way back to them. You start at 7am and can finish at 7pm, you get paid per parcel you deliver. They dont keep you on the same route so you never get to know your route

It was a good experience

A meaningful experience that lasted for about a week or two .. everything was god except the manager that was miss behaving at everyone around him at the work place

Only paid for hours working. Not for getting to work or going through security. Also they are selective on who works, not first come. Also if you get

There for 4pm starting at 5, you might not get in but have to wait for next shift which is not paid for. My advice, avoid like it's the Corona Virus! Slave labour and unfair pay.

Self Employed -- Not in the slightest

As an Odf you are treated as employed, you are told where you are working and when you are working, they take a day off you in the week and expect you to work weekends to make this up to cover the costs of the van lease before you earn anything. No set wage you never know what you will earn or how much work you will have, No paid holiday, You certainly are not your own boss. Stay well clear and dont fall for the blueprint and promises like I did. Too much pressure for what you earn which Isnt much more than an employed driver once everything is calculated and worked out.

Master's of double standard

Disgusting ways in which members of management speak to drivers and the culture in which people of different colours are treated is appalling to say the least

Do not recommend these to any one the treat workers really bad . No one knows what there doing on the management side And half of the drivers do what they want there's not lead from anyone there I worked there bout a month and was treated so poorly always messing up wages talk to staff like there at the bottom

The management are bullies! I would definitely not recommend! Stay clear! If you’re looking for a job where you come in and be left to be made uncomfortable everyday go ahead!

This company runs a tight ship. The quality procedures are exacting and it's sometimes feels that such procedures overshadow the intended company culture of respect responsibility collaboration, playfulness, resourcefulness, commitment and trust.

Extreme unfair treatment

Extremely Unfair treatment of ethnic groups of people. Whilst I worked for dpd group i found that there was a lot of racial abuse from co workers as well as some of the management especially towards young Muslim men which was very worrying, for the whole time I worked there I witnessed 5 odf drivers been pushed to Sadly give up their franchise agreements due to racial discrimination unfortunately the continuous unfair treatment led me to give up my position at dpd

Not a bad company to work for got good bits and bad bits

It's ok I found it to be enjoyable the time I was there obviously some people were good some not so good but over all nice place to be. Plus they have a new DC distribution centre which is state of the art in its function so it's possible to get in and out within an hour possible less so your not spending time in the depot when you could be out on the road earning money not really much more to add if you like being your own boss I'd say give it a try

Rubbish company for work....

Worst company I worked with.... They eat your money I worked for 8 days they waste my 2 days in training.... After that I worked here for 6 days.... Done deliveries for whole 6 days... About 13 hours per day... Than I told frenchice owner I don't want to do work here he told me OK but when I ask for my wages he told me you bang my van somewhere and your wages cover that repairing cost..... That's it..... Totally rubbish company....... No respect for drivers just do theirs deliveries like donkey.........
