Worst company I've ever worked for

Unless you like having no time for yourself then this is definitely not a great company to work for, spent most of my working week getting up, going to work, getting home having tea then going to bed

Long hours, constantly under pressure

DPD Parcel Delivery Driver

I work for a DPD DSP, Load the van, pop on the sat nav and go, once your used to the way it work's your able to stay in the delivery time window and finish at a reasonable time.I work rural to town/city centers never more than 90 stops on the busier routes. It's easy, I'm 52, had 2 heart attacks. So those of you that moan are probably looking for an easy life which isn't in reallity available in the world of being employed By someone, as in any employed job the employer is always going to push the employee in way or another.

It's Easy

Only if your lazy

Do not work for dpd edinburgh they dont pay there drivers

Do not work for dpd Edinburgh they don’t pay there drivers and there attitude towards there drivers are horrendous send you out extremely over weight to the point parts break off the van definitely wouldn’t recommend

Overworked underpaid

You will deliver 120 stops on average everyday without fail, 120 stops could be anywhere from 130-170 parcels of ALL shapes and sizes! The van is loaded to the roof. The routes themselves aren’t too bad but you have to go through and re route stuff because the system isn’t perfect. If you finish bang on time at the beginning of your delivery window you’ll be doing a 9-10 hour day. You get paid £100 for 100 stops, anything over that and they pay you a measly 50p a stop, so if you do 120 stops you get £110 and any of those stops could have 5 or more parcels and they’re paying you 50p for it. 10-20 stops could take you 2 hours to do. If you enjoy being overworked and underpaid go there. You’re told to take everything and once you’re out on the road you’re on your own.

Lunch on the road

This company is absolutely shocking and have lost the plot.Priority - Customer Priority - ProcessNon Priority - The driver, they treat you like non humans, demand you work every weekend. Palm you off with ice cream, air fresheners, Pens, etc. rather than give you a real reward for your efforts. They literally are going in the same direction as city link. Have no operational sense at all. Think of a plan and are like yes this will work without thinking about the repercussions and impact it has on the business. If you’ve ever suffered from mental health and feel you’ve had enough of life, join here it will speed up the process of going into the next life. The company recently dropped to second for the best courier spot. They will proceed to slip down the pecking order. They even had the cheek to blame there drivers for this rather than see that nobody wants to work Saturdays or Sundays. I’ve seen a high turnover in staff, people who’ve been there 20 years let go due to changes they demand. There is no loyalty in the business and a massive shortage of management who now push more work onto franchise owners to do there jobs for them. With the raise in costs of fuel and vehicle costs for services repairs etc. you are better off signing on the dole.Stay clear of DPD. Place will be gone in about 3/4 years

management is poor. IQ of donkeys. Be prepared to be humiliated. You'd be lucky to find your route ready for you on some days. Only good thing is working alone.

Low wages, high pressure, messy warehouse

Management always asking for more and more while wages remain low. You need to organize your route at the beginning and look for the parcels missing, that takes you roughly 2h/3h and you don’t get payed for none of that

No pros

Management ruin another one

Your best is never good enough, always expecting more. You get to a point where you think it can't possibly get any worse, but somehow the management achieve it again and again.Extremely cliquey - If you're part of the inner circle, you're laughing. The place is now ran by inexperienced van drivers that got to where they are through the inner circle. It's a sinking ship. The rubbish drivers get an easy ride on cushy routes whilst the the decent lads get constantly put on and worked into the ground.

The employed drivers are a good bunch

The management are running the place into the ground chasing their bonuses

Not bad place to work for some stressful days but not really that bad, work there for a year or so got on with everyone always looking for people to help

Summary truthful as above

Really good few years ago …Avoid at all costManagement want out but their salary covered an well paid and won’t leaveDuring covid management paid bonus of thousands for sitting on behind while franchise partners working all hours for less money. Could go on and on but you wouldn’t believe me and think I was winding you up or sour grapes it’s not…staff employees all good but have a role to play which they hate to do if they don’t there out

Fuel start finish time etc, fed ups parcelforce etc nearly finished by time Dpd on first delivery

Okay but no progression

Poor management but other than that easy work multi drop if you aren’t lazy. Okay pay I suppose but no incentives and management are unorganised and lazy

Horrible place and even worse peopl

Management only care about hitting bonus and management in the office talk to everyone like dirty. Keep adding more work everyday and most of the time you dont get a break but still expect you to work the extra half hour a day. Place is a joke and wont be around in 5 years

Quite stressful

Worked for franchise. The job when delivering I am paid £1 a stop, averaging around 100 parcels a day. DPD do not care about drivers or inconvenience that they cause from my experience. They seem to care only about your window, if you get delayed for whatever reason they do not care, or if you end up working 16 hours a day for less than minimum wage. A LOT depends on your route though, a good condensed route in an area you know then can make it a very enjoyable job. You get decent money and fairly quickly. They do not care about weight and size of parcels. Multiple times i have been sent out with two man needed parcels

long hour

From best delivering company in UK become the worst

It was great 7 years ago. Management was treating personel with respect and dignity. Slowly with the timethey started cutting wages putting their needs on top of everything and everybody. Communication between company and drivers was interrupted and valuable people left

Just get them out

You get a little support as a new driver, if you're lucky to work for the right franchise. Less stops too, but you need to learn fast.the minute they need you to take 100 out, you'll take a hundred out, finishing at 9pm won't bother them. The depot has got one hour when nobody answers the phone... You may be coming in at 8 and finish at 8 on a regular basis. You can make money, but the price is high

Don't do it

Everything falls onto you the driver, from the state of the parcels to damage to your vehicle, dpd will never take the blame for anything and they are very quick to charge you for anything, you are not guaranteed work and they can put you on any route they want.
