Stressful and hardwork

I worked for a long time with this company, and it was a good job but the bigger they have got the worse it has got, you are just a number that can easily replaced they don't care about work life balance, they give work out that cannot be in done in a normal day but just expect you to work till its done they don't care what time this is, some of they have to work 15hour days and that's the truth, they only care about number of stops they can get out you, if you don't like going home then go for it otherwise stay away, stressful and undermining.

Pros

Can't think of any

Cons

Long stressful days

Avoid

DPD is not worth it at all. The pay for what you do is terrible. The work is hard. They say self employed but it’s just one way they avoid paying taxes.

Pros

No pros it’s horrible

Cons

The whole job is a con

The pressure you are under makes the job incredibly dangerous

The pressure to get deliveries done on time made it a dangerous driving job, and the financial consequences of delivering late gives you no choice but to drive dangerously in a very large vehicle

slowly going down the pan, As the Amazon giants take over..

As the years have gone by it's gotten worse and worse ,I'm a FLT driver on nights now but have worked in all areas of the buissness.. As of late they are cutting staff to the bare minimum to get the sort complete due to post COVID low volume levels, and now 1 person is being pushed to the max to get 2/3 people's worth of work done,Management is poor, personally they don't both me and leave me alone , but if you don't speak back or have some seniority within the company, you will be pushed to your limit .

Pros

For me the nights I guess, and

Cons

Agressive un realistic expectations

Didnt enjoyed been played by managers

Manager has no respect for drivers. They only give work to their close friends drivers while others are push on side or given the left overs or given no work at all. Poor communication in management hierarchy. Absolute disgrace. Business promise/ model complete turned to be false. I do not recommend this company to work as multi drop driver

Lots of pressure for not much money

The company is forever winning awards for one thing or another, unfortunately the people who do the actual work are so badly treated it feels like a slap in face every time some new award has been won and accepted by management on the backs of drivers and warehouse staff. Field leaders basically means constantly finding new things to offer customers like letting them choose the delivery time before hand meaning you have to rearrange the route then rush around all day to accommodate it. Like taking failed deliveries directly to a pick-up shop you weren't going anywhere near. The receiver generally wants it redelivered the next day if they're out but instead it's going to a shop 3 miles away that I now have to back track to during my already rushed day... Not fun, too many time constraints. Then you have the golden boys, 3 or 4 drivers who are friends with management and get all the extras that could possibly bring.

Avoid like the plague you're worth more than this

If I could put zero stars I would. Long days, 12 hours is expected of you but more often than not you'll be working 13-14 hours sometimes more. Don't get paid hourly you get a set day rate, you can easily spend 2-3 hours per day in the depot none of which you get paid for on top of doing 120+ deliveries per day plus collections. No one cares about the welfare of the drivers, no lunch breaks, no toilet breaks, supervision will jump on you for the slightest mistake, no proper training, no support, salary works out less than minimum wage when taking the hours you do into account. Any mistake means you're off the road the following day meaning you lose a days money. All they care about is parcels being delivered. Daily loads aren't weighed there are vans going out each day over their weight limit, DPD don't give a toss they'll throw the driver under the bus if caught by vosa even though drivers have no say in what they take out on delivery each day

Pros

Can't think of any

Cons

Long hours, no breaks, low pay for the hours worked

Worst company to work for

Long days, management do not care about you, Loading your own van which you don’t get paid for, poorly planned routes, measly pay which they either not pay out right or sometimes not at allThis company is a shamble to work for and the people very high up are as useful as a brick wall

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Long hours, silly pay, under pressure

Good people that work hard. Driving is stressful whoever you work for.

I've been lucky to work at Manchester which is a good depot. We work hard but well with each other. The atmosphere is respectful but fast paced. I enjoy working here, the drivers get on well and help each other out. New drivers are helped by the experienced as long as they are willing to listen !!

Not great

Very long days . Money not the best .. if you have a week off they phone you to see if you can come go in. Management not the best as they start in warehouse and never been a driver and think they know it all..make the rules up as they go along and they change everyday and also rules are different for every driver .. a lot of favouritism the management look after the drivers they like.. also management treat you like children the office staff talk down to you and always call you a liar when they ask you a question and you give them a answer..
