Hard work but good pay
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Hinckley, Leicestershire - 19 August 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedVery physically demanding job but you do get paid well. However, you can get paired with someone who is very slow at their job and you will both get penalised

Hard work, not bad pay
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Leeds, West Yorkshire - 11 August 2023
Very physically demanding work. Management pretty decent but working under a lot of pressure. Opportunity to advance if you desire but not an easy ladder to climb. Decent pay and benefits

Terrible management
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Gateshead - 10 August 2023
Promise everything but deliver nothing! Look elsewhere! They try to do everything quickly as possible, so management get their bonuses, which means most of the time you will not get your contracted hours, and reduced pay. So win win all round for Dpd……but at your expense!

Everything

One big joke!
Warehouse Worker (Former Employee) - Northamptonshire - 16 July 2023
Poor management run by amateurs with no knowledge or experience of real hardwork with it's not what you know but who you know scenario! Seen as a number not an individual. Lack of respect and no extra support given, handling ridiculously large and overweight parcels daily causing constant strain and injury with no acknowledgement or compassion!
Pros
Willing to put up and shut up then this is the job for you
Cons
Overwork / Underpaid. Not allowed to have a voice!

Work
Warehouses (Current Employee) - Swindon, Wiltshire - 2 July 2023
I find the people there are good to work with. They have a laugh it can get stressful especially when everything comes in late. It is a physical and lace to work because you get a lot of heavy loads to deal with but that’s part of being a parcel sorter

Awful place to work
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Swindon, Wiltshire - 27 June 2023
Overworked, underpaid, awful managers and awful working conditions, when it's blistering hot, the office has ac but the actual warehouse has none, people who do nothing get treated with respect while the actual workers get nothing. Avoid this rubbish place.

Great fun, but you need balls
Parcel Sorter/Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Aldridge, West Midlands - 15 June 2023
Worked here last year.. had a blast between February, up until last August, then another member of staff appeared to have a crush on me.. I started to receive many many crank phone calls off this person, and still do 8 months after leaving. This job is highly physical, especially emptying the trailers, but was great fun. If they sacked off that tw@, I'd happily still be there. The gaffer delivered the greatest group bollockings I've ever been a part of
Pros
Breaks after every trailer
Cons
Poor hourly rate

Hard work
Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - Warrington - 12 May 2023
Warehouse job at DPD 10k to 20k steps a night with parcels up to 30kg roughly about 200 parcels per hour, really hard to get contract, promise of a full time work then being send home, management pretty chilled as they have to paying you national minimum working nights 😂 therefore they are chilled but make no mistakes they will get rid and replace new people every night or every second night guaranteed, it's hard and demanding job without anything in it for you not now or the future dead end.
Pros
Can't think of anything
Cons
Hard labour no appreciation etc.

Avoid at all costs
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Thatcham, Berkshire - 24 April 2023
It appears from the outside like any normal warehouse/sorting job, but once you start working there you realise the workplace environment is toxic. Breaks are forced onto you at the start of the shift, the pay is terrible considering it is night work ( they get around this by saying 1am start time is the morning).

Good
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Leeds, West Yorkshire - 18 April 2023
Very chilled place to work the faster you work the longer the break is. There is a McDonald’s 5 minute walk from the depot. Leeds United stadium next to it
