Our application process

We're keen to attract diverse candidates and we've tried to make our application process as inclusive as we can. You'll see it varies slightly depending on the role you apply for, but broadly speaking, follows the two steps outlined below. Create a profile and apply online The first thing to do – if you haven't already – is create a personal profile on our careers site and upload your CV. It only takes a minute or two, and you can get things started here. Once you've created your profile and uploaded your CV, find the role you're interested in, hit the 'apply' button and complete your online application. Join us for an interview Depending on the role, we'll either call you directly to arrange an interview or send an email asking you to jump back on our website and book an interview slot. We'll ask about your experience, give you an overview of the role and team, then get you to complete a series of competency and behavioural-based questions, and finally a technical or case-study task. Of course, your experience will differ slightly depending on where you are interviewing in the business, but our recruiters will ensure all of your questions are answered and you feel supported and welcomed.

Delivering Joy Christmas Campaign

Customer and colleagues with Christmas gifts
Wow, what a year 2021 was! Through an uncertain year, our Dunelm Colleagues have pulled together like never before and we are super proud of the amazing initiatives we have launched in our local communities. From delivering Christmas gifts and food to those in need, to offering time and assistance to anyone living alone through lockdown. Here’s a short video of some of our Community highlights – none of which would have been possible without our amazing colleagues and customers. Thank you for all your time and support and here’s to an amazing 2022! 💚

What you can look forward to

An environment that brings out the best in you We're here to help our customers create the joy of feeling truly at home. Join us and you'll find our caring and inclusive culture makes this a place you'll feel right at home too. A real sense of purpose At Dunelm, we offer the chance to be part of something bigger: to help real people experience the joy of feeling truly at home. Everyone here contributes to that purpose, as we strive to bring more contentment, more comfort, and more laugh-out-loud happiness to people's lives – our customers', of course, but also our own. A feeling that you belong Everyone who works with us brings something different to Dunelm. And to our minds, that's something to celebrate rather than something to accommodate. Wherever you work with us and in whatever role, you'll find everyone supports and cares for each other. And that you'll feel seen and valued for the unique contribution you bring. A sustainable future for everyone As a business, we care about doing the right thing, and creating the joy of truly feeling at home, not just now but for generations to come. That's why we're working hard to reduce our carbon emissions and contribute to a sustainable, circular economy. We call it our Pathway to Zero and we still have a long way to go. And like everyone here, you'll get to join us on that journey. A chance to give something back We're serious about our role in society. Each of our stores is partnered with a local charity and has its own community Facebook page. And we offer our Pausa Cafés for free to local community groups. We're also proud partners of the mental health charities, Mind (UK and Wales), SAMH (Scotland) and Inspire (Northern Ireland). And each year, we'll give you a day's paid leave to support a charity that matters to you. A commitment to your wellbeing From our Wellbeing Buddies and Mental Health First Aid training to our progressive parental leave and menopause policies, we're committed to supporting our colleagues in every area of their lives. Through our partnership with the Retail Trust, we all have free access to a 24/7 Virtual GP, as well as therapy and counselling, plus information, guidance and advice in all areas of financial, emotional and physical wellbeing. Our colleague networks All of our colleagues have the opportunity to be part of our four colleague networks. These are Disability & Neurodiversity, LGBTQ+, Gender Equality and Ethnicity & Race. Each network has co-chairs and an exec sponsor who work closely with us to ensure that we are a workplace where everyone feels supported, celebrated, valued and heard. Ethnicity & Race At its core the Dunelm Ethnicity & Race Network is all about helping colleagues from minority ethnic groups feel seen and empowered though coming together with allies, sharing their experiences, and challenging the status quo to make positive changes in our working environment, as well as creating a safe space for our colleagues to share their thoughts and support each other.   Disability & Neurodiversity Our Disability & Neurodiversity's network’s vision is to help drive positive change to make Dunelm a truly inclusive place to be, for our colleagues and our customers who live with or are allies to those with a disability or neurodiverse condition. Our goals: Improving manager conversations, sickness and absence policy triggers for people with disabilities & neurodiverse conditions. Accessibility for disabled or neurodiverse colleagues in non-retail sites Accessibility for disabled or neurodiverse colleagues and customers in-store and in the products we sell. LGBGTQ+ Our vision for the LGBTQ+ network is for colleagues and allies to connect and support one another. Together we will create and inspire positive change through communication, events and education to continue building a culture that celebrates the individuality of our LGBTQ+ people and allies. Gender Equality Our mission is to drive gender equality for all colleagues in all roles and be here to support people through all of life’s milestones.  All people will experience life differently, we want to influence Dunelm’s culture to ensure that people of all genders are supported and treated equally through all of life’s milestones.

Natural History Museum x Dunelm Collaboration

In February, we celebrated the launch of our collaboration with the Natural History Museum by hosting an event for press and influencers at the beautiful Old Sessions House in London, followed by an evening drinks reception, hosted by CEO Nick Wilkinson. The new collection, which includes furniture, soft furnishings, wallpaper, bedding, upholstery, and home accessories offers our customers the opportunity to enjoy a stunning range of exclusive homewares designed and produced in collaboration with the Museum and reflecting the ethical and sustainable standards at its heart. The Museum’s assets inspired the Dunelm design team to create a series of completely bespoke designs – inspired by everything from the Museum’s famous architecture to some of its fascinating collections, beginning with botanicals and palaeontology. We've captured highlights of the day in this short video, including guests enjoying an exclusive preview of the collection and taking part in a botanical watercolour workshop, inspired by key prints from the range. We hope you enjoy seeing this collection brought to life as much as we have enjoyed working with the Natural History Museum on this exciting and inspiring collection.
