I was contracted 16 hours, and was only given 8, I was told that the company, “couldn’t afford to give me more hours”.. so that’s why most other people got double their hours. SO FAIR.
Everyone used to have set hours/days however it started to change towards the end of my employment...more people were taken on with minimal contracted hours and that would stuff peoples work/life balance completely. Also we would be expected to do overnight shifts for Sales Prep/replenishment/Stock take...working late into Christmas Eve wasnt ideal either but had to be done i guess...
I only wokred part time as was young so for me the 6 to 8 hour shifts went quick
Constantly changing rotas last minute & cutting peoples hours down without notice. They expect dedication from staff but hardly pay overtime
Hours.... What hours. No set rotas and they think it's acceptable to change hours at such short notice and expect you to do. Watch your pay to... the store I WAS in the lady who did hours messed up people's pay. People complained yet she's still there
They expect way more hours from you and rotas are not set weekly they can change even once public. This company seems to lack in times and can't get certain things right
During my time with Dunelm I have learned all areas of the distribution centre and was able to undertake any jobs that were needed. I was given the responsibility of running the dispatch department whilst the team leader was away, this was due to my attention to detail and working practices.
Everyone else has had terrible experiences. My shifts are 4-6 hours
Totally agree, Dunelm don’t care about their staff.Management terrible, don’t know how to manage the store. Every week there is a new rule, which lasts all of 5 minutes.
Worse company to work for.If you like having no life and unpredictable hours then Dunelm is for you
