Working Hours at Dunelm

I was contracted 16 hours, and was only given 8, I was told that the company, “couldn’t afford to give me more hours”.. so that’s why most other people got double their hours. SO FAIR.

16hrs are a normal first time contract but you can work upwards to a 30hr contract.

A 2 day induction can sound a bit daunting but it’s actually really good fun , if it’s for a new store the induction generally takes place in a hotel where get to meet all the other new starters, you will also meet your management team plus the team leaders of each department, you will move from table to table where each team leader will tell you about there department, there roll and what is expected from you, you will meet your store managers and head office staff, lunch is provided as you are there for full days.

Depends on management but my manager has allowed me to be flexible. You need to be able to do overtime which is 20% of contracted hours.

Unpredictable. Don't make any appointments or personal arrangements because they'll give you hours you don't want, haven't asked for and can't do. Family commitments and family time is not allowed. You will be actively bullied if you refuse to do whatever they say.
