A challenging and fast paced role where we genuinely try to make a difference.
Customer Service Manager (Current Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 24 May 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI have been working for the company for over 2 years now within my role and many changes have been made in my time since I have been here. The Customer Service department demands work of a high quality and a lot of effort has been put into streamlining and working off the back of feedback from staff to improve processes to not only enhance the customers experience but benefit the staff that work here. The work can be challenging at times with high call volumes however with the collective effort of everyone pulling together there is a real feeling of unity when trying to serve customers quickly without losing the quality and standards that are in place that benefit everyone in the long run. Many of the work streams are in the process of constantly being reviewed and updated. In general the workforce are diverse and hardworking people. There is a real emphasis on finding the right people for the right roles and a lot of effort is put into training new starters to a good standard. The ability to problem solve and be pro-active to seek resolutions yourself is encouraged and is reflected by the pride in which staff take via their quality scores and knowledge base. This in turn means multiple opportunities to learn and work within other business areas is certainly a must for those wanting to progress. In terms of Management, everyone is given a voice and a lot of time is spent on planning wider business updates and on-going issues which seek resolve. The Management team as a whole has a broad and strong knowledge base within the industry and each person brings a different skill -

Fun and interesting work place
Customer Service Advisor (Current Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 15 August 2023
E gas and electricity is a lovely place to work. If you are up to the task of learning ins and outs of a meter and dealing with a mixture of customers then the job is simple enough. Longer you stay, you’re able to branch off into new positions and any promotions or extra roles are hired within. Overall a good place to work with decent pay in the current climate

Amazing Company
Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 27 July 2023
I started in the call centre a few months ago and not having any previous call centre experience, I have to admit I did I did find it difficult at the start but the training team, my manager and team are so supportive. Everybody wants you to do well and succeed and I can see me working here a long time. The culture is great and I love the dress down and themes days and especially when we have a pizza day. I also really like how you get a yearly pay rise, I was in my last job 4 years and had no increase at all. It is hard work at times but overall a great place to work and the staff are what really makes this company as good as it is.
Pros
Yearly pay rise, nice atmosphere
Cons
Very technical and a lot to take in during training but its worth it.

High turn over
Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 6 July 2023
E is a toxic company, there is no concern for employee welfare. you are constantly harassed about reaching unrealistic targets, they have no understanding of how demanding the calls are coming through and how many queries you are dealing on one call. They have unrealistic expectations. They Keep adding to the work load. You need to be a robot to work here. High staff turnover.

Best move I ever made
Customer Service Administrator (Current Employee) - T3 trinity park - 3 June 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The staff are amazing, full of positivity and so patient and helpful when training you to fit your role in the company What is the most stressful part about working at the company? They move you around into different roles which I found nerve racking. But again the support is second to none. They gave me the confidence to smash it What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Brilliant environment. We are very well looked after. Breakfast provided and drinks throughout the working day. They have a pool table, play station and prayer room. Everything is clean and well maintained What is a typical day like for you at the company? Fast passed and full filling.

Much room for improvement
Customer Service (Former Employee) - Birmingham - 20 April 2023
On the face of it, the company looks like it could be really good and seems to have a good culture. When you start to deal with people both management and non management you start to realise there seem to be factions of existing employees who seem to think they can do whatever they like however they like and the rules don’t apply to them. They sell a good ideal environment however, the reality is very much different!!!

People that care
Customer Service Advisor (Current Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 30 January 2023
Everyone I work with cares and tries to make a difference everyday - no one is lazy and people really want to do well. So much better than my last place where everyone tried to do a little as possible leaving only a few of the team picking up all the work.
Pros
Great team
Cons
3rd floor

Jobs at E (Gas and Electricity Ltd)
Very accommodating
Part-time Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 12 May 2022
I have struggled to find part time work to fit around my children and home life and after been out of work a couple of months I was starting to think I wouldn’t find anything but E have been so accommodating. They have offered me a contract to fit around the school runs but I did have to commit to full time the first couple of weeks for training. I have never worked in the energy industry before so there was a lot to learn and it probably took me a bit longer only working 20 hours but now I’ve settled in I love my job and everyone is lovely and really helpful. I also love the fact that we get free breakfast, I never get time in the morning with the children a so for me that is an added bonus!
Pros
Very accommodating around home life Free breakfast Lovely staff Good pay
Cons
Full time training course for two weeks

Great Workplace
Customer Service Advisor (Current Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 12 May 2022
I have worked for E for a few months. Initially I found it hard as there is a lot of information to take in but I’m so happy I stuck with it and I really enjoy my job. The trainer was great and so is my manager. The rest of the team provide a great atmosphere and offer extra support if needed. The company benefits are also very good, much better then I’ve ever experienced with other employers and the whole company was provided with dominoes yesterday for hitting our targets. Other benefits include free tea, coffee and breakfast as well as discounted gym membership. The free parking is a big bonus for me as I used to pay over £100 a month previously. I also like how E reward loyalty and service, for each year service we get an additional £1000 salary increase and 1 day holiday. Overall a very nice atmosphere to work, although it can be challenging at times it is very rewarding and I am glad I persevered.
Pros
Free parking, free tea/coffee/cereal Pizza days Additional holiday each year Yearly salary increase
Cons
Challenging calls but very supportive team and manager.

Great place to work
Customer Service Advisor (Current Employee) - Birmingham / Airport - 7 April 2022
I have been with the company now just over a year and have received my first £1000 salary increase. I love my job and the people I work with, my team manager is so approachable and always happy to help. The employee benefits are a bonus and there are lots of opportunities within the business to progress. I think the referral scheme is a great incentive too.
Pros
Extra holiday, yearly salary increase, free food and drink, parking.

Avoid at all cost!
Customer Service Advisor (Current Employee) - Birmingham - 28 March 2022
Overall I am ashamed to work for this organisation. What I have found concerning is that I have become aware that cultural differences exists which includes certain remarks which l find shocking.. To make it worse, the people who make these awful remarks are management themselves about their staff.

Challenging job with little rewards
Lead Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) - Birmingham - 11 March 2022
I've worked at E for 2 years as a customer service agent. The job can be challenging at times, especially when dealing with difficult customers. There is a lot to learn but the training is really good. Management isnt the best and there is a lot of micromanagement. One team manager is great, the rest are average at best and have less knowledge then the agents taking calls. Pay is alright and is increased each year subject to no sickness, late etc. They are quite strict with toilet breaks and monitor this regularly. Moral can be low as so many people leave on a weekly basis.
Cons
Weekend working.

Poor place to work if you’re looking for advancement
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) - Birmingham - 4 February 2022
If you want a progressive job you won’t find it here. People have been here for 5 years and still stuck in the same position. Managers refuse to take complaints leaving the call handlers to deal with it. The poor excuse of managers who don’t deal with these also don’t come from energy backgrounds an so have no clue what they’re talking about. Furthermore, atleast one of the managers is micro-management Queen and the second she sees you having fun she will be straight over to chastise you.
Pros
Nice break area
Cons
Poor management Salary not enough Spoken down to
