Not recommend working directly for them

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
E-zec entered minibus Demand Responsive Transport business not really knowing what to expect, they don't know how to operate a Transport Services, drivers come and go, not enough for demand, short of vehicles, not all raised problems raised addressed, they look after their own staff better. Learned they can use you if they need, then discard you. More management hired but not getting to grips, still vehicle allocated late, swapped around, overall delayed. Not solving what was raised, tools not working, no effective communication flow. When you leave...the depot and listen to the radio. Some interchanges have no toilet facilities, some roads are blocked but satnav takes down there.

Pros

Free parking, tea, coffee at the depot

Cons

It’s a shame. Could be great

Brilliant new management but things are never going to change with the nature of the work, the condition of the ambulances and the pay rate is appalling. Plus no sick pay

Pros

Seeing behind the scenes in the NHS

Local Level Management extending to Nationwide Management

A totally disorganised organisation, losing staff due to poor communication (especially in Redruth, management cold, and downright rude) taken on more than they can chew, I'm sure this is true across the board. Putting patients at a disadvantage, all in the name or profit. Avoid at all costs if you have an atom of empathy, sympathy for another living human being. E-Zec/E-Med, change the name not the letter change for better? Not in this case. They are dreadful. Absolutely awful. No communication. Losing staff hand over fist. I wonder why. Rude management, detached management, control well .... enough said. I managed 8 days before leaving. Nothing if you are semi-human with an atom of depth of feeling for another human being would sign up to this shower. Avoid at all costs!

Needs to be more efficient.

Used to be better but to many changes made to management and the merging with other company's mean you don't know whether you coming or going.Good for experience for progression into NHS ambulance service. Not a place you want to stay long.

Overall not too bad

Enjoyed working for E-zec. It’s viewed differently depending on the area you work in which suggests the difference in management? For me personally my management was pretty fair and quite helpful. It’s a fast paced environment at times so I could feel their pain. On the whole, a good job with poor pay but that’s made clear from the start.

Pros

Varied days and great colleagues.

Cons

Pushed to do more than you have to by control.

A joke, a big scam

At WestLink you never get paid your full hours, management deducts your hours to pay you less. And overtime never happens or you get paid 1 month later. No team atmosphere and the management is on amateur league. Don’t waste your time and avoid constant headaches.

Pros

Nothing

Going through a lot of changes but doesn’t seem for the better at present.

Apparently bought out ERD but would appear it’s the other way around given all the procedure changes. Silly ideas coming in making the job harder than it needs to be. Unsure of what will happen next year when the contract up for renewal and can’t say i’m excited to find out. Huge staff turnover for obvious reasons but seem to be ignored.

Pros

nice little job

Cons

staff not really appreciated. Always someone who will want you’re job if you don’t.

Management keep things under the table

Poor pay can be long hours unfair management organisations told to do work that went way beyond shift time and unfair actions kept under the table and in house.

Pros

Uniform

Cons

Long hours no respect

Lack of everything

Poor wages, terrible management, ok if your face fits. Promised so much at interview. Manager speaks to you like a child, has no skills at all, no encouragement.

The support just isn’t there

Overworked and underpaid. The only thing that keeps you there is the road crew. Staff are a lovely bunch. But no support from management. No sickpay. No enhanced rate for overtime, weekends of bank holidays. Nothing!Don’t even get a thanks. Seems to be a weird divide between Road staff and control staff. No working together at all. You drive around like a blueass fly all day, doing routes that don’t make sense.

Good job, poor management

I loved working for ezec until I tried to progress and suddenly started seeing the flaws in the management and control team. Nobody wants to help anyone out in this company, poor pay, company urged me to go for a new role which I didn’t get any support with. Walked out on the morn day didn’t even hear anything from anyone until a few days later.

Pros

Good job with good crews

Cons

Get treated and spoken to like a dog

Seems the volunteer drivers have the best of it.

The office gives us the run around every day, approx 200 miles, and we can take it or leave it. HQ. staff always pleasant but changing often. Used to be better working for "the birds!)Believe staff shortages on both sides contributes to patient unhappiness.. constantly being late/not picked up.. but the whole thing boils down to PATIENT CARE...something the new owners should adhere to and be less concerned with profits.

Pros

Being a volunteer driver

Cons

very few on this side.

Great staff

Staff work really hard for little return. Flat rate for all hours worked and no sick pay. Forever brining in new rules and management do not support when things go wrong. Vehicles are so old and getting embarrassing to be seen in and breaking all the time. Base not fit for purpose. No parking even for ambulances. You need to be fit and able to carry people in and out of properties so they hire people who have just retired or not suitable to do the job which makes it unfair for everyone else having to do it. The hospital has unrealistic expectations, too many patients but are never ready so delay you further. If you like being out and about in all weather its a good job for you.

Wouldn't recommend

Avoid at all costs! The work environment is so clicky, don't know if I'm coming or going half the time. I think management need a reality check and they definitely need to think more about their staff instead of walking all over them. They always seem too ask the impossible and it's always the staffs fault if it doesn't go to plan. The turn over of staff is emence! Sort it out E-Zec

Bad operational management

It's a shame. It could be a good job, if it wouldn't be for the managers in the middle for whom the staff are only numbers. No respect and duty of care for patients or staff. They are unable to keep the good (going above and beyond) staff and supervisors for long, as they are not appreciated and worked hard till they leave. Currently the supervisor couldn't care less, when at work. Shifts change from one minute to the other, not with a 24 hours min notice. No support in the event of death in the ambulance. 'I done my 8 hours. I'm at home. Call the managers. They get paid for it.'. Never happened with the previous, he came back to sit down or even finish the shift for you.Avoid it!!!!

Pros

The patients

Cons

Super high staff turnover, bullying culture
