Courier Van Driver in Bathgate, West Lothian
on 10 May 2018
No work / life balance
Own van required as rental of van dilutes your earnings heavily requiring you to be on call 24/7 in order to earn enough money to feel the job is worthwhile but this then means you have no life outside the job.
Too many city centre local jobs that are a waste of fuel & earn no money from them so are a waste of time. Get the longer distance jobs when 1st join that are the bigger earners but these are to keep you happy at 1st then they start to dwindle down.
So in hindsight, if you have your own van & are happy to work longer hours / be on call 24/7 then this job would suit you. But if not I woul stay away.driver in Glasgow, Glasgow

An Excellent Employer, and Job Satisfaction
It is quite simply one of the most rewarding jobs I have had, the culture is face paste which suited me well, the scenery, the standard of support was on a whole new level, I shall return to work for Eagle in the new year 10/10 Self Employed Courier in Glasgow, Glasgow

Job role that is designed based on manipulation & exploitation
Negatives * Daily routine is uncertain * Not sufficient earnings without own van/car * Driver constantly challenged and threatened for denying unprofitable tasks assigned ( remember still self employed ) * Controllers try to squeeze drivers salary where possible by downgrading jobs ( bonuses at stake ) , communication level that of a 5 year old * Management bellow average, rather dangerous - profit driven * Workplace culture = No one is more important than company. the person is expendable or dispensable. Positives * Lesson learned What would you say about your employer?
