Elitist Snobs

I’ve worked here many years and have feel it has got worse and worse as time has gone on. The CEO is deluded and thinks that customers just have endless bags of cash to spend on useless things they don’t need. The people working under him seem to be under some spell of illusion of a ‘Better EE’. And when you filter down to the local management if your face doesn’t fit they’ll make you have a hard time of it. There are some genuine good people who work here also amongst the management who are fair and realistic but some of them are up on cloud 9 and put unnecessary pressure on staff for results which at the end of the day is a game of total chance on what calls you get. I’m of the belief that the commission system is a complete fiddle so that certain faces within the business receive better calls, salary increases and bonus. This has become more prevalent and obvious the last few years.Annual leave opportunities have improved for staff since starting and a lot fairer. But what good is time off if you aren’t getting the money to enjoy it I’ve seen countless hard workers leave this business because they weren’t deemed to be of a certain Team Leader mold, aka Yes men/women and it’s just wrongAvoid!

Pros

Annual leave opportunities are numerous, colleagues are great, certain managers and higher ups are ok

Cons

Management is bogged down by elitist snobs who are stifling the business, salary and bonus has went right back the last few years, fraudulent sales processed

It's decent

It's okay nothing special you have your KPIs which you have to complete otherwise you get put into a performance improvement plan. In terms of moving up, it depends really on whether your on the managers good side or not. This can be different in every store.

Fun workplace

Very stressful and full on sales environment with a lot of pressure but the pay is good. You can progress very quickly in this company if you are sales and customer focused. Long hours and a lot of them unpaid on a positive note very team work focused.

Easy going and fun for the most part

Like any sales job there is some level of hard selling involved, even when the company tell you there isn't, but behind that the job itself is somewhat enjoyable

Targets are unrealistic and your punished for offering what the customer wants

Targets are unrealistic. Unless you are willing to make customers lay ridiculous amounts of money for products then your penalised on it and put on review. Customers wanting cheaper prices are scammed into thinking there getting a good deal when in reality there not and are paying much more for something they could have gotten much cheaper if they had taken a new customer offer from another provider. Bt/ee doesn't reward loyal customers and only wants to make as much money as possible for them. Too much upselling

Pros

Free parking

Cons

Scamming customers

Difficult

The jobs is easy - a 12 year old could manage. Perks are city centre working and that’s about it - you are constantly micromanaged, annual leave is impossible to book off and your entire day is monitored to the second

Pros

Not being homeless

Cons

Everything

Productive

Really good place to work, great place and great staff and good commission scheme. Managers have your back and always do what they can to make sure you’re supported.

Stressful beyond explainable

You will be welcomed to the world of misselling, the job is demanding and they expect results of you no matter the situation, they will expect you to sell multiple add lines to even a blind person so it shows up good on their figures and if you are not doing it they belittle you and question your ability to upsellYou only progress further if you are the regional managers favourite puppy otherwise your career will be like a standstill with no movementEvery store you look into most of it is missell, they add watches and tabs without customer’s knowledge, i left because i didnt want to be part of that and whenever i rebelled against it i was threatened with demotion or sent to stores which dont perform as a punishment, im so glad i finally left such a stressful environment

Pros

Discount on BT Sports, monthly commission

Cons

Poor management and progression

good!

great place to work, just a lot of sales targets. great benefits like discounted phone etc can be hard to grit target as large team & minimal customers but overall i had fun

Draining, problematic

Long shifts Micromanaging Terrible ops managersA lot of older staff who complain about younger generations being uplifting or trying to be engaging during working hours If there was any care for the advisors you like to advertise of being inclusive and understanding then I would like to see more of that instead of characteristics of entitlement and narcissistic behaviour as well as manipulative and false safety

Avoid at all costs.

High targets, low commission, managers on your back constantly to sell broadband to customers, micromanagement, if you're away to the toilet for a few minutes expect to be asked to work the time back. Would never recommend to anyone.

Great Company..

Originally from the North:I used to be OBSESSED with EE. I was loyal, dedicated, committed, excited, passionate, enthusiastic and most of all.. Great in my role. My teams and personal development were always prioritised. The company generally cared about health and financial issues you were having. Then I moved down south…Everything changed. EE in London? Don’t think about it. Untrustworthy Advisors out to steal from customers, upgrading customers accounts and keeping the phones for themselves whilst giving the customer demo handsets. Store managers selling demo flagship handsets at CEX and robbing the company blind. Advisors who treat the job as a ‘stop gap’ rather than a career. Company tho was at the heart and soul of the people. Felt very corporate when I left though.

Stressful, negative, dread and total dispair.

What is the best part of working at the company? If your face fits then you will do fine. Long hours, angry customers and little or no support. If you have any mental health issues do not work there. They want youngsters who they can bully or mould into what they want. There are some good benefits like discounts but not worth your health. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Customers, always changing targets and any excuse not to give you any bonus. Pay is good but that is to get bums on seatsWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company?Busy. Breaks timed to the secondWhat is a typical day like for you at the company?Busy, stressful and having to watch your back

Worked to the bone

If you want a early grave this is the place to work used to be a good company to work for but gone to the dogs since BT bought the company out. Staff treated like dirt

Nice place to work

Really nice place to work, although targets are really hard to hit with the decline in retail. Nice working hours.. although not guaranteed 2 days off together.

Secure

Safe and secure, good benefits and pay but despite being told there is room for progression, very few people ever do despite putting the time and effort in.

Fun workplace

Worked at EE for 3 years and had the best time only left due to the pandemic and because I was part time I didn't get paid being off so I had to find a new job

Good

No complaints - managers are always there to support with anything that you may need - good benefits and many options to progress within the buissness
