I was business manager. Sales, makeovers, skincare.
Business Manager (Former Employee) - Kent - 25 September 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedOne of the better concession brands to work for. Great perks in terms of the allocation of free products and discounts and the products are really great. They are expensive and you really need to believe in them to be able to sell them. The commision structure can create tension within the team and if targets are not met you will likely be managed. Unlikely to progress to far within the company however you can use the experience to move onto other opportunities within the beauty retail industry.
Pros
Products are amazing, allocation, luxury beaauty can be fun to work in
Cons
Competetive, missing targets can have a huge impact of your commision and pay, sneaky behaviour with falsifying sales within the team causes tension

It was ok
Beauty Consultant (Former Employee) - Bolton - 3 April 2023
I worked in Bolton Debenhams it was a pain when most staff on counters were not in and you had to sell products on other brands and then you could miss out on avctial sales on your area .It was boiling in Debenhams so it was very uncomfortable to work there .The good points was the amazing products and my area manager was lovely too .
Pros
Great products and discount
Cons
Long hours and very quiet days

Unrealistic Sales Targets - Slow Work Pace
Sales Consultant (Former Employee) - Lincolnshire - 9 March 2023
Working for Elizabeth Arden enabled me to get a lot of customer service experience which has been extremely useful for my current role. I now feel confident in sales and dealing with difficult customers. The pace of this role is very slow, particularly during off-peak retail hours which makes reaching high sales targets extremely difficult which can feel a little demoralising and unproductive.

Past its best, since Revlon took over
Account Manager (Former Employee) - Yorkshire - 11 March 2021
Great skincare, make up lagging far behind competition. Little support from management. Have to really be pro active as customers are few, or want the information and buy online as so much cheaper. Dont answer emails, little support from management. Office mainly Revlon now, dont like it theres the door attitude.
Pros
Free annual skincare/make up allowance. Discount also good
Cons
Standing on feet constantly, few customers. Traffic stopping really only way to get new customers.

A welcoming, supportive experience
Account Manager (Former Employee) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire - 22 October 2020
I loved my time at Elizabeth Arden. As long as you are target and results driven then selling on counter is for you. I was supported with regular training and contact with my area manager. There was always opportunity to drive sales and ideas were supported. The products are beautiful and I wished that the brand was more prominent in the UK with the younger shoppers. I would recommend the company but be aware this is retail so weekend working and long hours at peak times is and should be expected.
Pros
Beautiful products, great training and support
Cons
Weekend working, targeted sales, long hours at christmas

I LOVED this job
Sales advisor (Former Employee) - Exeter - 7 August 2020
My manager was incredible and caring and really wanted to help me succeed as much as possible. I loved working in the beauty industry. I tell everyone about my experience and how amazing it is. I made friends and had a great work/life balance. The only issue was my managers wanting me to miss college to work which I simply could not do and then of course getting in trouble For not being able to
Pros
Great company to work for. Amazing managers
Cons
Don't apply if you're a student

Elizabeth Arden is an iconic company that still keeps the values of the legendary Elizabeth Arden
All consultants receive a very high standard of training to ensure a professional standard of service and product knowledge.
It is a challenging and competitive career that is target and commission driven. It can be very rewarding if you have the will toto succeed

Good experience
Counter Manager (Former Employee) - Arden, UK - 25 December 2019
I loved my experience with Arden. It was a job where you got out of it what you put in. You have to work hard and actively seek new business whilst promoting the brand.

Since Revlon now owns it things have changed.Little if any support, too litt
Business Account Manager (Current Employee) - South Yorkshire - 21 December 2019
Big changes. Little support...set up to fail.
Gone are the glory days. No commission unless target hit...good if you do, but with better offers online from same company, little chance of that.
No extra for working public holidays...go elsewhere.

Good allcation
Account Manager- current date (Current Employee) - Arden, UK - 23 September 2019
Good but old fashioned company. Makes things hard to sell to younger clientele. Need to keep things updated. Has better products than competition. Needs to improve marketing

It was a joy to be part of the company and they always made you feel part of a team, and nothing was too much,if you ever needed support.
Beauty advisor (Former Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 28 August 2019
From the first interview, and then the training witch was both fun and very thorough, which gave you the confidence to sell the right product to fit the persons needs,a day in work was always different, and you felt confident introducing the products and ensuring the customer’s needs were met.the work place was great as it was always nice to make new friends, and be aware of the latest products,in the department, and know that my company could compete with the other departments,in having the latest products and tools to match any other in store.it was never hard, just took a little longer,to have the customer sit down, and apply the products and allow them,to feel and see the benefits of the products we agreed to use.
Most enjoyable, new launches of products, being able to use them myself, introducing them to customers, and the company just a lovely helpful company to work with, who always encourage you to be your best.
Pros
Lovely uniform, staff purchases.
Cons
Sometimes late hours

Elizabeth Arden
Account Manager (Former Employee) - Perth, Perth and Kinross - 6 August 2019
Great company to work for. Lots of heritage . Arden been around since 1910 and the first company to start selling in department stores. They made make up acceptable for the masses. Head office and Area Managers have your back.A great company ,commission based so the more you sell the more you make.
